RegSupreme, Windows XP and Windows Defender

Hello,

The programme looks OK although I have not yet tried it.

Do you know if it removes any cookies, files and or registry keys-subkeys necessary for working of :

1) Windows XP services and functions (updates etc) and or

2) Windows Defender functions ?

What can I do to prevent this from ever happening ?

XP-Prof +SP2 + all Updates

....and new installed "Windows Defender".

I use the Macecraft-Tools daily and don`t fuss with the founded results but delete them and back`m up.

Windows Defender (Beta2) has found a Trojan on my machine which AdAware did not seem to delete completely. The Trojans name was: "WhenU.SaveNow"

Mind you............I did have some problems to install the Win-Defender! A fault occured telling me I was not an admin! Fault number: Error 1609

The simple resolution for that I found on windows.zone

thanx for the reply.

As far as WD is concerned I do not want to sound optimistic but I believe MS with this one,is improving.

A programme in beta and it does a nice job but you never know let's wait and see the final version.

I must say..............it looks prettier than number one-beta but is still useless.

In the meantime I had tried out 3 other Spyware-tools in addition to the WD.

WD found no spyware on my PC and laptop

2 others the same=all clean

SpyCatcher from TENEBRIL has found a few spyware and was able to delete them (one of them was from WD!!)

SpyCatcher has also found a dozen "suspicous" files which I also deleted.

What I didn`t like with WD was the fact, that one can only update when "windows-automatic-update" is activated. Otherwise no update possible.

I got used to turn off ALL automatic-updates on my machines........it is a nuisance. I can manage my updates easily by hand and don`t need a third party to do that.
