Hello, I recently downloaded a trainer from Cheat Happenss and it surruptiously installed an app called Aurora when I opened the trainer - turns out this is "normal" behaviour.

When I went to uninstall it with Uninstalr, it cvould not be found so i went online to find help. Turns out they claim it is not "installed" and you "just" need to manually delete the files.

I then setr about tracking anything it had added to my system and it was mainly all in Program Files, so there claim of not installing appears disingenuous.

Maybe this is something you could look into as this may be an installation method Uninstalr is not looking for?

Thanks.

Hi ya, I have Aurora and it is correct that it does not install. It is just an app which allows cheat engines to run from Cheat happens. The only thing that changes on the system is an association file in the registry which enables the program to run. You can just delete it, without the necessity to uninstall and personally I just switch off the run from start up. Most of the cheat engines I use are from FLing.com, very much like Aurora the cheat activators are very safe and do not have any viruses attached. FLing cheats are standalone for each game, "Aurora" has cheats for all games and all updated versions all in one place. I like them because it allows you to enjoy playing a game rather than be frustrated or stressed by spending 10 hours to get 200 credits to buy a gun that might help.
As I say, Aurora is perfectly safe only if you download it from Cheathappens.com and has been about for over 15 years creating cheats for games since Doom (1993).

I hope this helps
Kindest regards

Dave

It sounds like the software is not installed, and as such, there is really no way to accurately detect it.
