After using Uninstalr ver 2.5 to uninstall BCUninstaller, the BC icon on the desktop disappeared as expected, but a different icon appeared in its place. This icon had the name "Quick Access" and it was NOT deletable.
However, I was able to determine that its location was '::{679F85CB-0220-4080-B29B-5540CC05AAB6}'.
I searched the registry for this value and found as a REG_SZ value of key Icon384. I deleted the Icon384 key and then refreshed the desktop with function key F5. After this the troublesome 'Quick Access' righfully disappeared from the desktop. Did Uninstalr create this 'Quick Access' icon in place of the BCUnistaller icon?
'Quick Access' icon appears on desktop after uninstall
Update: After doing another uninstall, the 'Quick Access' icon again appeared on the desktop. However, I simply pressed function key F5 and it disappeared. There was no need to modify anything in the Registry.
I don't think "Quick Access" icon showing up in the Desktop had anything to do with using Uninstalr, but it just happened to show up (or move to another location) at the same time.
If this issue can be reproduced to be relating to Uninstalr, then I can fix it. If you know a way to reproduce this, please let me know. Also, happy holiday season!
This issue is easily reproduced. The "Quick Access" icon has never before appeared on the desktop of this computer. And it only and always appears after Uninstalr unstalls at least one program. It never appears if Uninstalr is launched, completes it analysis, but is closed without uninstalling anything.
Is this Windows 11 or 10?
Windows 10
I'm afraid we have been unable to reproduce this issue.
Thanks for your efforts. The appearance of the "Quick Access" icon after runing Uninstalr may be related to or a secondary reaction to something I've done on my computer. I have removed most of the Microsoft bloatware and other annoyances that I never use, including the appearance of the Quick Access folder in the explorer navigation pane:

This situation may trigger a consequential creation of the "Quick Access" icon after Uninssstalr does its uninstall.
Note that Revo, BCU and Microsoft uninstalls do not cause the Quick Access icon to appear.
