I am using JV16 Powertools 2017 Platinum Pro on an ASUS laptop running Windows 10. When I open Startup Manager and attempt to disable a startup program, I get the following error message:

Failed to Access "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupfolder\"

There is no folder in the registry with this name. The real path should be:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg\".

The difference is in the last folder, "startupfolder" vs "startupreg"

Startup Manager is looking in the wrong place! Please fix this.

Thanks

Jim

I'm running JV-16 Power Tools 2017 V4.1.0.1657. I just downloaded and installed that most current version today. Problem persists. I can't disable any enabled programs using Startup Manager.

Thank you for the report Jim, we are currently testing but were unable to determine the cause. It will help a lot if you care to send us the content of your Backups folder, located within the default installation location of jv16 PowerTools 2017, that being "C:\Program Files (x86)\jv16 PowerTools 2017\Backups". Just pack the "Backups" folder found in this folder path as a ZIP or RAR archive.

- Upload the resulting Backups archive to https://wetransfer.com/ or attach them to a private message if the size allows it.

- Send me a private message with the resulting https://wetransfer.com/ link to download the archived Backups folder.

Make sure you have added "jv16PT.exe, jv16pt_PreWorker1.exe, jv16pt_PreWorker2.exe and RegCompact.exe" from folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\jv16 PowerTools 2017\" to the white list or exclusion list of your anti-virus and anti-malware product(s) or any other product that could block this software from fully analyzing your system.
