At the setup of Powertools 2017 a screen flashed on with all the directories to copy to the exceptions list of your anti virus program. I think there were about five. Unfortunately the screen was gone before I could copy them to memory.

Can you let me know here what they are for Powertools 2017 please. Would the same list be applicable for malewarebytes as well?

Appreciate your reply.

I believe that the screen that you are looking for is this one:

pt-2017-quick-tutorial-whitelist-notice.png

Also, after installing the product, you get this notice on the same topic:

pt-2017-post-install-whitelist-notice.png

Would you like the product to behave any differently or display these notices any differently?

Your feedback is appreciated.

A related matter...

Just installed 2017. Using Win10, 64-bit. VIP Plat reg.

Item #1:

When I boot, jv16pt_PreWorker2.exe stays running (and it's a large animal!). I use ProcessExplorer to observe the running processes/services. I have about 125 in total - probably quite a small list.

If I ask PE to check all processes at VirusTotal, the JV program is the only one flagged, and it has these three warnings:

- AegisLab - Suspicious.Cloud.9!c - 20161125

- CrowdStrike Falcon (ML) - malicious_confidence_69% (D) - 20161024

- Invincea - virus.win32.sality.at - 20161018

Item #2 (minor):

It would be nice if the resident services were fully identified - with details such as "Company ID","Description", etc.

Hi, Mihai &ALL.

A couple of suggestions:

(1) the warning window has a countdown clock; two changes might be simple to implement and solve most issues:

- extend the countdown time to, say, 60 or even 90 seconds (rather possibly enough to the most light-headed user), and add a "go ahead" button to stop the countdown and proceed

- add a "stop the countdown" button to allow the user to read and memorise (my case) or write down the files on a notepád (app or good'ol paper)

(2) OK, I'm old school. Document it! I searched "(anti)virus", "(anti)malware" and a couple other strings but was unable to find anything in the support, forum and knowledge base pages. Mihai's post above might suffice; it is good (and simple) enough.

Best.

Thank you for the information. I would have liked the screens to stay on long enough to make a note of them. They flashed on and off very quickly when the program loaded. Allow the user to click on a continue button would be helpful.
