Platinum VIP licence not valid

Today I installed the new jv16power tools 2017. I have a platinum vip licence for many years but the program says it is not valid.

Please tell me what to do.

I have the same problem.

Since many years I own a lifetime VIP License as the Dutch translator of the program.

No problems with it in the betatesting versions and now in the definitive 2017 version, its says "Trial version".

Renewing my data in "My Account" or clicking "Apply my license" don't solve the problem.

Yes, I had the same problem. Scratch the auto download and go straight to the web site, enter your email address --- download and install. Don't remove the old JV16 until you have installed "2017." I found it is a bug (email recognition) with the email address recognition by an outside company. After all is working with "2017" I uninstalled the older version. It works fine.

I'm using Win10, quad-core desktop.

By the way, "2017" is very slow but it's careful. It finds a ton more than the older version and did speed up my computer, on a moderate (default) setting. However, it's not one of those "take-over" programs I fear the most.

For example, did you have any problems in entering your full name and e-mail address during Initial Setup? Was your e-mail address not accepted? If this is the case, please send me a forum private message with your full name / e-mail address and I will look into it. It may be that the e-mail validation technology that we started using with PT 2017 does not accept your e-mail address due to a free domain being used (we can fix that).

Looking at the high number of views of this tread (but lack of commenting), it is clear that there have been some misconceptions caused by the topic's name "VIP licence not valid" after jv16 PowerTools 2017 was released.

Allow me to remind you that VIP Technical Support offers, as it says, priority Technical Support and not a Lifetime License.

The VIP license offers priority in solving technical issues that you open with us using the ticketing system in our Help Center.

The Pay Once, Use Forever (also known as the old "Platinum VIP") license offers the lifetime product regardless of which version you register.

This means that if you at some time in the past had a VIP Technical Support add-on as a service to one of your old jv16 PowerTools (but expired) licenses, you will need to maybe purchase a new, valid license to use the product. When doing so, you can also add "VIP Technical Support" to the same order, if you wish to have the same conditions as before.

I had / have a Platinum VIP License (= lifetime) and it doesn't work in the version 2017.

Durin initial setup there were indeed probleems with my email address.

Actually, it doesn't help. For those of us with lifetime (Platinum VIP) licenses, what are the exact steps to get 2017?

I had clicked the link in the email to me, "jv16 PowerTools 2017 Released", the link in this paragraph:

"If you already own a lifetime license, then you do not need to purchase jv16 PowerTools 2017 anymore as a free update will be delivered to you. Simply download jv16 PowerTools 2017, install and start using the product!"

This took me to a page where I entered my email address from my original Platinum VIP license purchase, and after download and installation of the setup.exe file I tried to enter again my name and email from the original purchase and it still says "This copy is not licensed".

Please, how exactly to get 2017 for Platinum VIP customers. EDIT: I will pm you...

I, and I assume most of the other people with this problem, have already tried this. It doesn't work.

Please refer to my open support ticket and the screen shot that I submitted. FYI, my email on file is a Gmail address.

Totally agreed. The online registration is a hell and doesn't work properly. Give me back the good old license file.

Quite simply because it happened with JV16X and has now happened again with JV16X-2017. That's 2 strikes. Wanta go for three.

It's been over a day since I submitted my support ticket (with the requested screenshot) on this issue and posted in this thread. No fix. No reply. No response. Not a peep. That is sad.

You introduced a major upgrade to your flagship product. Why is there no one is around to fix a very major problem (and several minor ones)???
