When I try to delete some registry entries I get this message:

imagehost

If I select yes, It looks like it deletes the entry. If I do another search for the same entry it's still there. It was never deleted.

How can I get JV16 to delete the registry keys?

Thanks,

If you are sure this item is safe to remove and you wish to delete this registry data, or similar, please use RegEdit to do so. You can also launch RegEdit to the specific key from jv16 PowerTools' result list (the Open In RegEdit option is available in the Right-Click menu).

I'm surprised that:

1. jv16 appears to delete the keys after the delete is pressed and doesn't give any warning that the keys are really not deleted.

2. jv16 doesn't have a way to delete the keys.

3. jv16 doesn't bring up the specific key when I double click on it. I'm running ver. 4.0.0.1502. An older ver did bring up the specific key.

The right click "Open in Regedit" does bring up Regedit but it's positioned at Computer with all hives closed. I expected it to be open at the key I double clicked on.

Thank you,

There are cases when registry data is deleted but is then automatically re-created by currently running software (an application, driver or a service), this type of situations are quite often the reason for this type of issue.

Jv16 PowerTools should open the correct key in question, not just open the RegEdit. What version of Windows are you using? Does the Open In RegEdit work in other registry keys?
