Is there any chance we will ever be able to use this tool without being forced to use Google?

Other search engine options would be better.

I modified the SearchEngine.dat file to use Bing.

Works perfectly, no more Google.

I wonder where you have found that file. I can't find it in any subdirectory of the jv16 PowerTools X installation directory on my PC.

As pointed out, Google is the default search engine used by the "Find more information online" options of different tools. When the tool is used, it checks the SearchEngine.dat to see what search engine to use. If the file is not found, it is created with the default content (i.e. Google). After the file has been created, you can modify it with any text editor such as Notepad or Notepad++.
