Startup Manager On Windows 7 (x86):

The six disabled items in the list below that point to Program Files (x86) show invalid paths.

  • Program Files (x86) exists, but contains none of the six items.
  • Doing Explore on any one of the six items brings up an Explorer window for Program Files (x86).
  • Items in the Windows directory always show the correct path, whether enabled or disabled.
  • Some C:\Program Files\... items always show the correct path, whether enabled or disabled.
  • If you enable the six items, then they show correct paths.
  • If you then disable the six items, they will again show invalid paths.
  • Other enabled items in the list toggle to show an invalid path when disabled (and vice versa).
  • Can you be more specific as in what exactly is invalid? The path in the filename field or in the command line field, or both? Also, can you show me one or two examples of how the path is invalid.

For example, in the screenshot it shows Filename: C:\Program files (x86)\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe

Do you mean the path "C:\Program files (x86)\CCleaner\" does not exist?

Can you please use RegEdit to navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg\ and see the value there. Does the item have the value of "C\Program files (x86)\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe" ?

There is no sign of "C:\Program Files (x86)\..." in any of the startupreg items

    I just did this:

    • 1. Start PT X in debug mode.

      2. Start Startup Manager.

      3. Disable CCleaner item.

      4. Enable CCleaner item.

      5. Back, then Exit PT X.

I was now able to reproduce and fix the problem, thank you for reporting! The fix will be included to the next released version.

  • Fixed in PT X (1494). The Startup Manager list and Explore option now show the correct location for those disabled items.

Question: How can a description be made to show for an item in the list instead of "N/A"?
