Backup line action drop down list improvements

Right click on a line in a list of Backups made causes a drop down list of actions to appear. Certain actions should be grayed out or otherwise suppressed. For example:

1. Show backed up registry entries, if the backup contains no registry entries

2. List backed up files, if no files are in the backup

I think it could be confusing as why the "List files" or "List registry entries" options are sometimes enabled and sometimes disabled.

However, I do see your point, that's why, the following improvement has now been implemented: if user chooses the "list files" or "List registry entries" option for a backup that doesn't contain the data, the program will simply show "no items found" or "no files found" message. These messages already exist in the translation file, so no updates to existing translations are needed for this GUI update.

If one picks the wrong option while in Registry Backup, one gets a blank notepad window. If one picks the wrong option while in Files Backup, nothing happens. This is minimally confusing also.

Your solution provides a neutral, factual feedback from the program. It will also work with Other Backups (which can contain both registry and file items in the same backup structure), with these exceptions:

If the C&FMC backup was only for removal of empty folders, there is currently no option to list those. Of course one could use Explore to navigate to dirs.dat.

History cleaner backup can have both registry and file items, or just one kind. If it just has file items, the entries.reg has only a TBackupManager header.

The blank notepad window issue and the nothing happening for files backups, are both now fixed. There was a minor bug in the backup system that caused it to sometimes leave empty backups behind, e.g. Entries.reg file with only the backup headers inside, this issue has also now been fixed.
