Initial Setup at 15 minutes and counting

Hi,

I've used JV 16 on and off for perhaps 7-8 years. I just got a new license for the 2014 version, having not used JV 16 for probably three years. However, the Initial Setup time (listed as 1-5 minutes) has stretched out to 15 minutes, and it's still not finished. Task Manager (Windows 8.1, 32-bit) shows it continually using 87.3 MB of memory but only occasionally using a little bit of CPU.

Any suggestions? If this initial setup takes much longer, I feel like I have no reasonable option but to use Task Manager to shut it down.

Hi - Everything is ok, now. I finally used Task Manager to shut down JV 16. I then ran JV 16 again, and the initial setup stalled again. So I again forced it to shut down.

I then used Revo to uninstall JV 16. I next re-installed it, and this time the initial setup only took a few minutes and it completed the job! And as expected, JV 16 works wonderfully (I use the more basic interface which is designed for "patzers" like myself).
