Hello,

I open System Tools then Software Uninstaller. When the list of software appears, every checkbox is ticked. I click on the top overall box so nothing is ticked.

I then tick the software I wish to uninstall. When I right-click it and select "uninstall", or simply hit the button, an additional software item gets ticked, and the dialog box tells me I have selected TWO items to uninstall.

The additional software item that gets selected is kind of random, but is usually the one at the top of the visible list.

I'm using V3.2.0.1354 under Windows 8.1 - 64 bit.

This is a dangerous error. Can you reproduce it? Or offer me some advice.

Tony

Not confirmed.

When the software list appears, no items are selected.

When I select one item and click on "Uninstall" that software gets simply uninstalled.

Notice: I'm using also the most recent PowerTools version: build 1354.

Thank you for your response which confirms that this must be an issue with only my installation or my PC.

I'll try completely removing and then re-installing JV16 2014 and report back.

Tony

Fixed!

I removed and reintalled jv16 2014 and the software uninstaller module is now working properly.

Tony

OK, I'm glad for you it's fixed now 8)

The bug is in the List Selection or Highlighted Item Selection function; not just in Uninstaller.

I am running build 1354 on a Dell Latitude 6520 with W7 build 7601. I've uninstalled PowerTools and reinstalled several times with no improvement in being able to accurately select and act on items in a list.

I had the same experience as the original poster of this thread. I also found that while the screen showed files checked and highlighted and this was verified in the status bar, clicking Uninstall produced an error, 'Please select at least one item'. This error occurred in several tools, not just Uninstall.

By highlighting an item and using or Select-Highlighted from the menu, the system recognized at least one selected file. This did not work for multiple highlighted items. The highlighting and check boxes were cleared when was pressed.

I successfully uninstalled one file by scrolling until it was the top file showing in the display window. Even though I did not select it, it was automatically selected when I pressed Uninstall.

Thanks for the clue. I'm trying to clean up the mess left when DeCrap hosed my system because of the same item list selection bug. I selected one item but after working through the screens (several options), the tool ran, deleting all of my Restore Points and removing multiple critical system softwares.

This item list bug does exist, apparently on some installs, and is causing much wasted time and money...
