I have excluded jv powertools in Avast antivirus scans. Not sure what else I need to do.
Any suggestions?

Any suggestions for a work around would be appreciated.
crabcakes99 wroteUninstalled Avast and stopped all non Microsoft services then tried again to install powertools. No luck, the initial setup scan still stalls and will not complete. Desktop is running the 64 bit Windows 7 pro SP1 operating system.

1. Which jv16PT2014 version did you install on W7-x64-SP1, v3.2.0.1352 or .1354?
2. Did you install jv16PT2014 in a clean/new installation folder (=required) or did you install the 2014 version over the 2012 version (reused the installation folder)?
I've also used revo uninstaller and uninstalled all versions of jv ptools including the folders that they were installed into. Subsequent efforts to reinstall 2014 still make it through the installation but then hang at differing progress of the initial setup scan when the software starts up.
This really has me baffled as I have not had this problem with jvptools before.
"Hello, The Registry Cleaner can show up as frozen if the software does not have the admin access and the operating system is trying to stop the search. Also Antivirus software's active scan can do this. Usually the slowness is caused by other software trying to stop our software from working correctly. I recommend trying to run the software in Computer's safe mode."
If I cannot get it working, I am considering to move back to 2012, which would be very sorry!
Wishing somebody can pay a bit more time to investigate our problem.
