Strangely enough the replies have disappeared :?
I guess some replies have been deleted because they were off-topic and hence against the forum rules. In any case I myself have not deleted those replies.
I have tested this on my system and was able to delete several items without any problem (e.g. Java Scheduler).
Unfortunately I can't imagine why it doesn't work on your system :(
