I upgraded Jv16 2011.

As jv16 2014 (3.2.0.1351) for the first time scanned my Xp/Sp3 registry I have been surprised to get conflicting responses: "No registry errors found" and "Registry Health 80%"

The worse after I run Registry Compactor. At the end I found so many malfunctions (lost wifi connection,

missing network connection Windows/Xp service, Ati Catalyst Centre damaged .....)

I regret the upgrade.

Fortunately Acronis True Image has been able to restore the full system.

I am an old Macecraft customers but now I fear the use of Jv16 2014.

Agree this 2014 version is pure hell. Downgrade to 2013 version...

No, to 2012, this was the last well working version of this software !

Your post does not provide detailed info about what you actually did.

So far I understood:

1. You upgraded from jv16PT2011 to 2014 v3.2.0.1351 on a Win-XP-SP3 PC.

2. On your first(?) jv16PT2014 Registry scan you got "No registry errors found" (so a clean registry and there was nothing to fix), which I find most unlikely. After that 'No registry errors found scan' you ran 'Registry compaction' (why?) that supposedly damaged several applications. Did you try to restore the registry backup taken by the 'Registry compactor'? Did you ran any other jv16 2011/2014 functions before Registry compaction, that could be the cause of these damaged applications?

3. By the way, the "Registry Health 80%" is normal because you have to run CFMC and fix ALL found issues to get PC and Registry health scores of 100%.

4. I ran 'Registry compactor' several times (with and without a reboot) on my old Win-XP laptop, without problems.

Since 2007 I have been a Macecraft's customer.

I have two computers, both with Win-XP-Sp3. The first with Jv16-v2012, and v2011 on the second one

(a notebook). No trouble in any way. I updated the notebook to Jv16PT-2014 v3.2.0.1351

I did

1. I restored the full backup Win-Xp-Sp3 S.O. (True Image Acronis)

2. Few days later, I uninstalled Jv16 2011 (Revo Uninstaller) and installed the new Jv16 2014 version.

Immediately I ran Registry Cleaner.

So, after restored, the operating system has been scanned for the first time.

Jv16PT-2014 did not find any error (unbelievable?), and reported 80% registry health.

3. I ran Registry Compactor because, after the Cleaner option, I thought "there are no errors, registry is

not 100%, a compaction will help"

As Jv16 ran compaction I saw some DOS windows on the screen, too short to read, one or two seconds

not more. Really it seems that Jv16 was telling some kind of errors to me.

Anyway Jv16 completed the work without any problem (apparently),

I also used in the past compaction without any problems

4. I reboot the computer and while the S.O. has been loading I had signs of malfunction. A windows said "ATI video catalyst control center damaged" In fact I got wrong colors, some images square shots. I missed wifi connection and the network setting had disappeared.

5. I did not ran any function between Jv16-2014 Registry Cleaner and Registry Compactor (see #2 #3)

My opinion was that the registry has been corrupted and I did not do any further test.

I did not thought to the backup taken by Registry compactor. I'm sorry I forgot this option.

6. I restored the operating system (Acronis) and I installed the Jv16PT-2013 v3.0.0.1267. At first ran it

found 310 registry errors (see #2).

7. Probably, this time, as per Murphy's law "If registry could be corrupted it will happen"

I know the last version of 2013 the compactor did not worked right and never tried in 2014. The last version for it to work right was 2012.

1. Why did you start with a full Win-XP restore on your notebook? Were there already technical problems/difficulties?

2. Before the restore, the last 'Registry compaction' on your notebook was it done with jv16PT2011?

With all due respect, I do not find this kind of unfounded comment very usefull/helpfull.

I have used the jv16PT2013 and jv16PT2014 'Registry compactor' many times, with both W7-x64 and XP-SP3-x86, without problems!

PC very slow only. I like to try software (excluding games).

Install-uninstall-annoying toolbar: little by little the computer going slower.

A full Win-Xp restore takes about 15 minutes. The time of a cup of coffee and my computer is like new.

2. Before the restore, the last 'Registry compaction' on your notebook was it done with jv16PT2011?

Probably not with jv16OT2011, if I remember rightly. I do apologize.

I usually run ERUNT-ENTREGOPT software to restore and optimize the registry

If time permits it would be interesting to see if, after a restore of Win-XP on your notebook, the registry could be compacted using jv16PT2011, without the problems you saw with jv16PT2014!

If jv16PT2011 Registry compactor shows problems too, your notebook XP registry was most likely already damaged.
