In another topic, I reported that v2014 installed but would not load System Tools\Software Uninstaller (stalled, not locked up). Per instructions, I downloaded and installed the latest and greatest, v3.2.0.1341. The Software Uninstaller now loads but it is slow taking 5 minutes to load. On this installation, I uninstalled v2012 and installed v2014 into the same directory in order to preserve my settings (re-use settings and especially the Tag data).

The Tag data only partially loaded. Note that in v2012, there was a similar idiosyncracy. When initially loading the Software Uninstaller, the Tag data would only partially load. The work-around was to close Software Uninstaller, close jv16PT, and then immediately re-open jv16PR and Software Uninstaller. The full Tags list would then be loaded. I tried this trick with v2014 but to no avail.

I then tried uninstalling v2014 and doing a clean installation without preservring the settings. After the installation, I then copied my old TagSystem.dat file into the new directoory but v3.2.0.1341 would not load that data either, again doing only a partial load.

Under normal circumstances, I would just bite the bullet and re-input all the Tag data into 2014 to see if it then saves and can be loaded later. However, my vision these days is failing and I can't do that kind fo detail work anymore just for the sake of testing. Sorry. I'm hop;ing that you guys can get this Tags thing worked out without my detailed testing and input.

As mentioned in the Subject, my machine is running XP SP3. The hardware is an Intel Core 2 Duo running at 2.6Ghz.

Build 1344 works the same as 1341 for me. The Software Installer is VERY slow in loading (5 minutes). Thissystem is XP SP3 running on an Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.66Ghz.

Once the Software Installer is loaded, it only loads a few of my existing Tags.

FWIW, the Tag syste (formerly Age/Comment system) is probably the most important feature of jv16PT for me. It's what brought me to jv16PT in the first place years ago. There are a lot of reg cleaners, etc out there, but at the time, jv16PT was the only one that allowed adding comments to each entry. When a new piece of software is installed, it is then easy to see what was actually installed, including other third party softwares. The Tag system also makes it easier to completely uninstall a piece of software if necessary, including its third-party stuff.

Please, please fix the Tag system so that it will load my existing Tag file. Meanwhle, it's back to v2012 for me.

P.S. regarding Build 1344...

Just for the heck of it, I also tried booting into Safe Mode which should have eliminated most other drivers and programs such as AV, etc. Buld 1344 still took about 5 minutes to load the Software Uninstaller and again only a few of my existing tags loaded.

As noted in a previous message, in v2012, the tags often don't fully load but a wor-around is to close jv16PT, re-open jv16PT and the Software Uninstaller. The tags then fully load on this second loading.

As noted in another thead, Build 1351 loads much better for me. The Softtware Uninstaller now laods in about 2 minutes vs the 5+ minues it previously took in 2014.

However, 1351 did nothing for my Tags issued (not able to fully load my existing Tags info). I had time today so I bit the bullet and re-input all the Tags from scratch. It was time-consuming becasue of my impaired vision, but I was able to get the job done. I am happy to report that when Software Uninstaller loads, it now correctly lodads the whol tags file fino the first time.

I hope that future versons of jv16 PT will be able to use these new existing tags info cuz re-inputting the data is a KILLER.
