Ah, this issue is now fixed, thank you for reporting! The Handbook issue is finally fixed in the next released build. Which will be released later today.

Hello dear JV16-team,

A few days ago I started béta-testing the 2014 version of your software, esp. the registry cleaner.

Yesterday I posted a larger review of that, it was posted here & immediately approved by your moderator. Afterwards I edited the text a little bit, because there was a tiny spelling-error in it , namely "precious" had to be "previous" of course.

I posted again, I got a message that it had to be approved again, but since then it wasn't published.

Can you check this please - thanks a lot :)

By the way , I just downloaded the new Handbook 2014 manually and it works perfectly - thanks.

Here is the final(?) version of the RC4:

The version fixes the Handbook issue and slow temp file removal with Clean and Fix My Computer.

The uninstaller of RC4f did not save the settings of jv16. Before installing RC4g, I uninstalled jv16 RC4f. During the uninstall, I told it to keep the settings but delete everything else. I rebooted after the uninstall and then installed RC4g. All the settings had to be re-entered.

This is not fixed in RC4g or RC4h

Is this the bottom line on your reported False detections in Registry Cleaner jv16PT2014?

1. JV16 2013 & 2014 give DFX & PowerTech as false positives - when repairing or deleting these keys, you have to re-install the DFX-program - as a solution for myself I put them in the ignore-words

2. False positive 'Volatile' is known for many releases now - Volatile is part of the updating process of Norton Internet Security (also the new 2014-version of NIS)

Registry Compacter:

Issues error: 'Failed to modify.......; Registry Compaction is NOT executed.

EDITED: After 2 consecutive reboots the issue disappeared. :)

This is on Windows 8 x64 Pro, RC4i, multiple computers

Here is a way to create an access violation with very high repeatability.

1. Open jv16 to the main GUI

2. Go to Tools>Program Maintenance>Reset all Settings to defaults.

3. All jv16 to set all the statistics to defaults.

4. jv16 will restart and rebuild the cache and then restart again.

5. After it restarts the second time, go to Settings and enter all your desired settings.

6. After the last settings change, click on OK

7. jv16 will request a Restart to save the settings and the GUI will close.

8. As it attempts to restart, the Access Violation occurs.

Note: This also occurs 100% of the time on a fresh install at the same point.AccessViolation.jpg

This is on all Windows versions, jv16 RC4i

Tools>Program Maintenance>"Reset all settings to default" does not set all settings back to the default.See the pics.
