I would recommend you to check that you are using the latest version 3.0.0.1267. This problem did occur in the 2012 version, but it has been fixed in the 2013 version. This is why I would like you to confirm that you indeed are using the 2013 version.
Remember to run the software as admin (as it is not enough that you are the admin of the computer) in the Win 8. I also recommend adding the software to Antivirus software's ignore list (if you have any).
