Version 3.0.0.1267 is S_L_O_W!!!

After upgrading my PC from Windows XP Pro to Win 7 Home Premium x64 and installing the newest version of jv16 Power Tools, things seemed to work really well... for a short time. But with 2 months of usage now elapsed, it's become REALLY slow! Each time I launch either Clean & Fix or Registry Cleaner and the scan completes, I select the items, click FIX and supply the name of the Backup file. After clicking OK, it "freezes" for a full 35 seconds before any action begins on the selected error items. Earlier (and with previous Power Tools versions) the action would begin immediately. What's been changed, to cause this delay??? I definitely don't like it!

Due to summer and summer holidays, we have been working on a slower pace. We are still working on the issue of the 3.0.0.1267 version being slow on some computers but not on all computers. As we have not been able to reproduce the slowness ourselves, it has slowed down the fixing process. Jouni is working hard with the next update, but unfortunately I can't promise the release of it anytime soon. We have some tickets waiting to be replied with this slowness issue, mainly because we are working to have a test version or the fix to inform you. All findings are still welcomed.

I want to apologize for the non-communication from our part. It seems that our wish to inform you about the new release did not quite work in our favour. The time really has flown by, and it was not our intention to leave you guys without a response for this long. This indeed was a mistake from our part.

First, thanks for getting back to us. We were wondering what had happened to the company. Second, yes, the newest version (.1267) is slowing down on some systems, like mine. For the first month or so of use, it was very speedy for all tasks. Now, it still finds errors quickly enough, but it takes seemingly forever to remove them. (I'm using Windows XP, SP3; Intel Core 3930 processor; AMD Radeon 6950 graphics card).

I want to echo the very slow execution of .1267. You said you could not replicate the problem, so here is the information I have. I'm running 2 systems, a 4 core AMD Athlon with 8 GB RAM running Windows 7 Home 64 bit, and a 2 core older AMD Athlon with 4 GB RAM running Windows 7 Home 32 bit. On the 64 bit OS, jv16 runs fine, very similar to jv16 2012. On the 32 bit dual core, it takes forever. The Task Manager will pop up saying that "this program appears to be frozen" it takes so long, and then it takes at least as long after the popup to actually finish and report back. I've tried both Fix and Delete options, and they seem to be equally slow. I think the 32 bit vs. 64 bit OS may be the problem, or at least a clue.

I hope this helps. I've used jv16 back to floppy disk days and have always liked it.
