After I installed jv16 2013 on my Win7 Home Premium x64 pc and after running the registry cleaner, I get the listing of registry errors. I select fix and am offered the option to backup the fixes. When I select backup, I get an error that (to paraphrase) states the program is unable to write the registry backup in C:\Program Files (x86)\jv16 PowerTools 2013/Backups.

I then tried the same task in jv PowerTools 2012 and received the same error albeit in the 2012 backup directory.

I tried one more time using the run as administrator for the 2013 version with the same error occuring.

So, how do I now create a successful backup with either version?

Does the error message cite this EXACT file path: C:\Program Files (x86)\jv16 PowerTools 2013/Backups?

I say EXACT because notice that before the word 'Backups', there is a forward slash instead of a back slash. That must be a back slash for the command to work. You would, indeed, receive an error message like the one you describe if that character is a forward slash.

Start the program, go to Settings, Installation. What does it say in the 'Backups directory' field? It should say '\Backups\'. It's possible that you accidentally changed the leading back slash to a forward slash somewhere along the way.
