I updated to JV 16 2013, build 1267 yesterday, and had all of the problems mentioned by others in this thread. I did a normal upgrade, and immediately had a variety of problems, which were slightly different each time.

At first, the upgrade went smoothly, but once finished installing it, the program hung up at a different point each time I rebooted the program. Sometimes it showed up as running in Task Manager, but wouldn't actually show up on the screen. Sometimes it would show up, but not run, and sometimes it would get partway through a registry scan before hanging up, and sometimes it would finish a scan, but freeze when I tried to fix the errors it found.

I then tried uninstalling the previous version and reinstalling the upgrade, but this made no difference.

The solution that finally worked was to uninstall the program, then actually go in and completely delete the program folder for JV 16 2013. I then downloaded the upgrade again, and reinstalled it.

From that point on the build 1267 has worked perfectly.

I hope this helps you.

I had an installed working 2013 that just stopped working! As you fond the only way get a working install was a total uninstall (I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to clean it totally) after this and a new install it worked OK. On a 32bit W7 when it also didn't work couldn't bother with the effort just used 2012 and 2013 light with both worked. It concerns me there does look to be more issues than I have found for many years with the new version. The new build is now working, albeit very slowly, on the 32bit PC now (as it is (slow) on my 64bit one).
