JV16 bug report

I've been advised to post my bug report here & attach the txt file.

Summary:

Under registry tools>registry cleaner>scanning mode the normal & reference scans run but upon choosing to fix the application then crashes/freezes with a 'not responding' notice & I receive a crash report.

Win 8 32bit, 4Gb ram.

Addition:

The files which freeze JV16PT are all in the "registry keys with incorrect permissions or owner" list & are all have virtualstore in the path name.

When I try to remove one or more of these entries either the program freezes or I receive a popup stating an error occurred in the program.

I'd be interested in hearing whether anyone else has the same problem or not.

Further to my bug report I am also noticing this popup, there is one with this text while several others also popup which are blank, closing them just continually gives more blank popups, any help to fix would be appreciated, it doesn't appear all the time but I've noticed that it appears more if I run registry cleaner then run fix my computer. I have uninstalled & reinstalled several times.

Did you notice that a newer version of jv16PT2013 was released yesterday April 28th?

Yes & I have downloaded it but it fixes none of the problems I've mentioned, the popup problem was also there on the previous JV16 2013 version & occurs when I close JV16 PT, as it was intermittent I thought it was a one-off but apparently not.

If there is a Bugreport.txt file in your jv16PT2013 installation directory, please attach a zipped copy of this file to this forum thread.

I have already posted a zipped bug report but as yet had no feedback or reply about anything found.

I will add another.

I run registry cleaner & then clean & fix my computer, the popup then occurs upon closing JV16 2013, I open task manager & the program is listed with memory usage of around 650MB (this is not constant as other times it has been 200MB & 450MB approx.), as for my other problem I've just chosen to hide/ignore the list. Running clean & fix alone does not incur a popup but also it didn't find anything so that might change when it does. I will report back with further findings.

Your previous attached Bugreport.txt was downloaded 4 times!

Did you install jv16PT2013 v3.0.0.1258 and later on v3.0.0.1267 in a new clean directory or did you install OVER an already installed 2012/2013 version?

jv16PT2013 MUST be installed in a new clean directory, uninstalling jv16PT2012 and than install jv16PT2013 in that previous 2012 directory is NOT good enough.

By default, the uninstall process, keeps the 'settings' and ' backups' from the previous version.

I fully removed the 2012 version & deleted the folder as I thought that would be the best way to proceed, I then installed 2013 & then the update, I have since removed & reinstalled several times & I have also downloaded the latest version with no change.

I have tried removing the entries individually but of those which do try I receive an error saying that it failed to edit the registry, I have now hidden those problem entries, I will continue to test the software to see if this also corrects the popup problem.

Update: As several users have mentioned running revo uninstaller pro I thought I'd try it but I get the error saying it failed to remove the entries for the first few then the program seems to freeze, I also now have a very slightly different popup message which appears after running registry cleaner & then clean & fix my computer.

I will include the new error message plus a screenshot of the task manager showing the MB usage when the popups appear.

I have returned to hiding these entries so will see if the popup/s return.
