Ah, the last post on beta 4... Thanks for the backup on that. I don't know what others see in their results, but here the upper post-Fix results window is way oversized relative to what shows, i.e., lost of blank space vertically, and the bottom section way undersized (plus the vertical not being flexible).

I got that in beta 3 too and now in beta 5. Looks like we are the only two so far to see this. Just would like to know why we get it and if it can be fixed.

Unit testing tool:

As in Beta3 ( http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4810&p=31417&hilit=unit+test#p31417 ), and probably Beta4, the tool does no tests. Symptoms:
1. It does not complete a "Generating data phase"

2. It counts the elapsed seconds

3. It performs zero tests

4. It uses 50% cpu

5. Even after closing the tool and exiting PowerTools, jv16PT.exe continues to use 50% cpu

6. The Task Manager process has to be killed

I thought Leanardo spoke to this satsifactorily at the end of the beta4 thread, but he's urged me to answer too. Here are two screenshots of Reg Cleaner results post fix. The first shows that the bottom section has more info than the program is giving room for, while the main section is mainly blank space. The second screenshot is what the box looks like after drawing down on the bottom. Note that the bottom section is still the same size, the text still running deeper than the box without any way to adjust the size. This obvious, elementary UI error has been there for some number of versions and been complained about and complained about. It seems from the lack of response and now your question that there's a huge blindspot at Macecraft, i.e., a missing perspective or maybe someone not being listened to. In any case, this time I hope you make it adjustable, preferably automatically expanding to meet the size of the information, so it doesn't have to be redone each time.

I do hope that some beta testing is done prior to going Gold that ensures that jv16 2013 properly recognizes a user's VIP license and also a new standard user license for 2013. I seem to recall that the previous 2-3 initial releases of jv16 versions were marred by license recognition problems.

Don't worry, this time we will issue a few licenses to some testers when we go Release Candidate level to ensure that there won't be any problems.

'Duplicate File finder' does not find any (duplicate) files anymore. I repeated the tests I did with beta 4 on *.jpg and *.mp3 files.

The attached DebugLog.html also contains a number of application errors (I clicked "Continue Application") that occurred after closing the main window of jv16PT2013_beta5

Problem confirmed and fixed. Small tweaks to the new duplicate file detection engine caused it to, well, not to work at all. Good catch, thank you!

Under Win XP SP3 jv16 does not show an jv16-icon after installation. An icon as a window is used.

Scroll to the right on the screenshot. That large group of icons is an XP style Quick Launch toolbar that I added. The jv16 PT beta icon has been installing as part of that group to the right of the orange arrow icon (Zoom Player). Many programs ask during install if they should be pinned to the Taskbar, but that would be over on the left, where the Opera and other few icons are. Never seen one that put itself on my Quick Launch add on. This is Win 8, using the Win 7 style desktop.

Update: Screenshot now shows jv16 PT icon on Quick Launch bar after beta install.
