The first time I used this program, I did something that allowed the program to remove the "recent files used" option in Microsoft Office Word (2003) I would like to reverse this - I want to used this feature in Word. How to make correction? If I go to TOOLS in Word, this option is greyed out

1. Which action did you take: "Clean & Fix my Computer" or "Registry Cleaner"?

2. The standard procedure is to restore the jv16PT backup you (should have) made before fixing/deleting the found scanned items.

If you're comfortable tweaking the registry, here's a solution:

If you didn't use/don't have TweakUI, then you can fix it with Registry Editor (regedit.exe). Go to this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer

Double-click the NoRecentDocsHistory item in the right-hand pane and set its value to decimal 0 or binary 00 00 00 00.

to Leonardo - I actually made this change several months ago and couldn't remember which action I took. There were several backups, but wasn't sure which one was the one.

to rdtmk5 - following the link you gave, I was unable to find Tweak UI in my Control Panel. After building up my courage, I went ahead and followed your directions exactly to use the regedit editor and it worked.

Thanks to both of you for your quick responses and help.
