Just what is a full scan?I notice that registry speed and health bars are only available with a full scan.????

Hmmm...

I guess its no big issue ,but its always nice to have all software functions working if they are shown in the gui.

True, it is not really a 'problem', simply not exactly what I would expect given the amount of time the 2012 version was in development.

What is a 'problem', one that I also had addressed in the BETA forum and then had my post about it mysteriously deleted with no explanation, is why the Registry Compactor does not work.

When I run the Registry Compactor (I am using Windows 7 U x64 SP1, fully patched) it throws an 'Internal Error' with something about a language file.

Now the final version of Power Tools 2012 is released with that bug still in place.

I suppose I need to use BETA 3 if I want to compact my registry, as it is the last version that worked.

Not good Macecraft, not good at all...

Oh well, maybe Power Tools 2013 will be better.

I was looking for this answer too so decided to look in the help files but no answer there, tried looking under the advanced engine section of registry cleaner & both leftover software scan & ActiveX/etc was unticked, added a tick to both but still had the message, I'm sure changing this previously (2011 version) gave me the full scan; can't think of what else to change.

Addition: I've just noticed though that just adding a tick to the leftover software scan & not the Active X does remove the message but no coloured bars appear nor any information about errors.

Running Vista sp2.

Do you get the same message(only available with Full scan) when you run 'Clean & Fix my Computer' (CFMC) in stead of Registry Cleaner?

PC health and Registry health are only updated during CFMC followed by a 'fix' off all found errors

No as the message doesn't refer to those two bars on the main ui, the ones we're having trouble with are supposed to show a more accurate % of registry errors that the ui ones & are only seen after scanning using registry cleaner.

So the check box must be empty, not ticked.

The full registry scan is a normal default scan with the default Engine Settings and NOT with the Advanced Engine Settings even if all of the scans there are selected.

Yes I know. It worked for me also in PT2011.

I don't know why it changed in PT2012.

But I do know jv16 ever answered a question about this ("what's a full scan") and explained a full scan is "a normal scan", i.e. with default Engine settings.

jv16 gas given a reason for that when he answered the question I mentioned above, but I forgot it, so only the developer is able to explain it now.

Perhaps it could be changed to read something like "Only available with default scan settings" in order to clarify the difference?

However, if it worked for the previous version (2011), has the application changed so much that it is impossible to reinstate the functionality that was previously available?

A score is a score, after all.

I see your point. But the idea of the registry health score view is to give you just that, an idea of the health of your registry. That score cannot really be shown if specific scan modules weren't run.

Showing the speed score with custom scans could also be confusing, as users might ask why they get different speed scores with different scans (with different scan modules selected).

This is not logical, a full scan is a normal default scan, or a scan with the advanced engine settings enabled AND the normal selection done. So simply checking the advanced engine settings without making any adjustments should show the score.

This is now fixed. Thank you for reporting! The fix will be included to the next released build.
