Is there any way, after performing a function like "registry cleaner", to get this program to auto-size column widths (according for example to the widest element therein) or otherwise get it to remember the sizings I have (laboriously) made by hand?

Having to move every column every time is tedious at best?

In jv16PT build 1053 my settings are remembered.

Only a notice: the tab Preferences saving is avalaible only in the advanced user interface and the Leonardo´s settings are the default settings.

Thank you for that, but mine are not being remembered, and my "Preferences saving" settings are the same as yours (probably the defaults? I don't recall ever touching these).

I vaguely recall that on installation of jv16 I was asked whether to keep settings in the program's directory or in the Registry. How would I go about changing that, as a test, or do I simply un- and re-install the product selecting the Registry next time.

Try this:

Go to "Tools" -> "Program maintenance" -> "Reset all settings to defaults" maybe also "Delete temp files".

That's the first time I hear something like that.

I've never noticed such a question when installing the program.

If I remember correctly jv16 PowerTools does not keep program settings in the Registry but always in the program folder and subfolder "Settings".

That question is not about settings. It refers to the windows Programs and Features control panel. Specifically, it asks if you want install/uninstall (aka Add/Remove) information to be put in the registry.

Thanks, I misremembered that it was Settings info.

I reset to defaults per Vasek's suggestion and now my window adjustments appear to be working, thanks. I do still wish there was an "auto-size" columns option--there are so very many different windows to deal with in jv16PT...
