Here is a new build of jv16 PowerTools 2011:

(Version no longer available for download)

Here is the Change Log:

Bug fix: the program doesn't start in some systems, usually this occurs under a non-English Windows.

Could someone who experienced this problem with the previous build, please confirm that the bug is now fixed? If it is, this build will be officially released shortly.

FYI: I removed the download link. The build contained a lot of debug code which makes the program very slow. There's no need to get this build to be distributed in software download sites. A new build with this bug fixed will be officially released tomorrow.

One, or two wrong messages:

1. Does a following issue occur yet?

The option Search by size doesn´t work properly in the File Recovery. Default settings. The settings on the tab Search by size is on a picture. The tool listed an error - see File Recovery.jpg.

Test it, please.

This is not fix. See jv16PT_debuglog_FR.html.

2. The counting´s bug is continued (shift+arrow):

Counting doesn´t work properly. A window pops up after finishing. See Counting.zip

The program crashes (not 100% reproducible) after ending custom fix in Registry Cleaner.

Edit: Steps to reproduction:

1. Select found erroneous data,

2. Click on Custom fix,

3. Create backups: Click Yes,

4. Give a description,

5. Click on Next items, again, etc.,

6. Click on Apply, again, etc, - the program crashes maybe,

7. Click on Close - the program crashes maybe.

A next crash in the Registry Cleaner:

The windows dialog: A problem caused this program to stop working.

Bug fix: Open in RegEdit feature does not open in some non-English versions of Windows.

Perhaps I am missing your point but I do not know what you mean by this attachment.

For me it are just the jv16PT program usage statistics.

This is now fixed. The image will be used in PowerTools Lite in the final release. It's a small logo that tells the users of PowerTools Lite that the program has been sponsored by a website. It will not be visible in jv16 PowerTools, but since both programs share the same code base, it was visible by error in the build 1050.

A minor bug:

Cannot delete a disabled startup item in the Startup Manager (the item is deleted from the list in the program, but not from the startup list). When the disabled startup item is deleted in another program (PowerTools is running and the "msconfig" don´t showing the item), the Startup Manager doesn´t recognize this and it still shows the disabled startup item (after second run of Startup Manager).

This is not fix. See jv16PT_debuglog_FR.html.

I cannot reproduce the problem. But I have done some changes and added some more debug code, so if the problem still persists with the next build, please send me the Debug Log.

The counting bug will be fixed in PowerTools 2012 with a full re-write of the list component. But I have now fixed the bug of the popup window.

Maybe Vista/7 issue, or:

Jouni, the same problem was (last year) in Directory Finder maybe:

Good catch! This is now fixed. There were actually two bugs: The
Directory Finder can't handle large numbers (like 10 GB), nor does it
work without a search mask (first tab).
