I see, thank you very much, Leonardo. I've noticed how the program, on installation, does that; I didn't realize that the program would spontaneously dispose of them :\ That doesn't seem right, does it?
So, for me, two issues stand out that wreck the user experience:
1. Scrolling through entries is a hit and miss thing and could very well lead to something being deleted that I did not wish.
2. The Backup Tool is just a PITA to use.
As I indicated in an earlier post, the compactor (issue 3, for those for whom it doesn't work) has worked for me with both stages (once, so far on this system build). I haven't tried it with the new (JV) build because, frankly, I dislike reboots and use them only when required. I have also found that Vista and Win 7 are much more stable with the registry, only requiring compaction (it could actually live without it, or one could use ERUNT) every 3-5 months (which seems dependent on the number of MS updates).
I would guess that the two issues I feel are important are classed as minor because no damage is done to the system, however, issue 1 is almost a deal breaker. Issue 2 is, well, a PITA. Not that I use that tool a lot, but for some, I can see how it that would become a deal breaker as well. Issue 1 has been around for a long time, it's high time that got fixed, in my opinion. The other issues should be fixed as well before a *new* version of the product is released. That just doesn't seem right, at all.
JV Powertools is a fine product, I'd dislike having to abandon it over a bit of polish and shine.
