I had several items that, no matter how many times I deleted them, always returned after rebooting.

Therefore, I decided to 'ignore' them using both the 'never show again' option in Clean and fix my computer and the other ignore option in Registry Cleaner.

Now, I cannot get the 100% Registry Health that I had before, I only get 99%.

Perhaps I am wrong to believe that 'ignoring' items means those items will not be recognized as errors and therefore not counted against registry health?

I just wanted to update: I installed the new version (2.0.0.1029), and I have the same issue.

Again, I would ask, what is the point of ignoring registry entries if they are not actually ignored?

Hopefully this bug will be resolved in future releases.

Unless you already noticed this, please see: http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4506&start=30#p28868 and the following posts from user=tullik and jv16.

I think the developer (jv16) should clarify if this issue is considered a bug or not!

Actually, no, I did not notice that, probably because I am using the full licensed version.

I agree that Mr. Vuorio would be the authority in this matter.

EDIT:

Here is an interesting observation; if I uninstall PowerTools completely, and reinstall it, if I Fix or Delete those recurring entries once, and after that, whether I Fix or Delete those recurring entries or do not Fix or Delete them (just close the application after the scan), I get 100% Registry Health and 100% PC Health.

Ignoring anything results in 99% Registry Health and 99% PC Health.

To me, not Fixing or Deleting the entries is basically the same as Ignoring them, so why the difference?

If I remember well the PC & Registry Health indicators are (only?) calculated during Clean and Fix my Computer(CFMC) scans, mostly with the 'Normal scan option'. Because CFMC fixes both file issues and Registry issues.

If everything found during that CFMC scan is fixed/deleted, than the health indicators will show 100%.

If found items are ignored (found during the scan, but not displayed) than the fix/delete process is not 100% complete (item is found during the scan, not displayed due to the ignore and not fixed/deleted). So the health indicators show <100%.

I am not sure I completely understand what you are saying, all I know is that if I have only the recurring entries list in CFMC (one Registry Error, six Registry Junk, and four MRU and History Data) and I do not fix or delete those entries, both the Health indicators are at 100%.

If, however, any another additional entry is listed, then the Health status will drop below 100%.

If you re-run the Clean and Fix My Computer,

a) What does it find? Nothing?

b) After the re-run, does the main window still show a health of 99%?

After ignoring the items, re-running the CFMC finds nothing.

Yes.

However, as I stated in my reply to Leonardo; if I do not ignore anything, once I get the 100% score, after a reboot, I will have several entries that always reappear. If I choose to do nothing with those entries (I run the scan, the entries are listed, I close the application, and I re-open the application), I will continue to get 100%, unless another entry appears.

The issue should now be fixed, thank you for reporting! The fix will be included in the next released build.

I installed the new version (2.0.0.1030) and I continue to have the 99% Registry Health issue if I ignore ('Never show again' in CFMC and Registry Cleaner) those recurring entries?

So running the Clean and Fix My Computer gives out an empty screen (no results)? Do you have the Ignore Words and Search Words tabs empty in the Clean and Fix My Computer screen?

Could you open SysAnalysis.dat (by default at C:\Program files\jv16 PowerTools 2011\Settings\) and copy paste here its contents? You can use any text editor to open the file, such as Notepad.

Once I select 'Never show again' for those items, yes, there are no items listed when I run CFMC.

Could you try again with the latest version from here: http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4518&start=30

If the problem persists, please send over the contents of the SysAnalysis.dat again.

I am using the official 1030, do you want me to use the version you made for vasek?

After removing six MRU entries:

I checked the SysAnalysis.dat and it is the same as before.

Yes please, it contains some changes that provide more information via the SysAnalysis.dat.

The issue is now fixed. You can confirm the fix with this special test build:

http://www.macecraft.com/downloads/betas/jv16PT2011_vasek9.exe

The fix will be included in the next released build, which is most likely released in next week.

Thank you for correcting this.

Thank you for confirming the fix. While this problem itself was very cosmetic, while working on a fix I found room of improvement in the overall health gauge system, especially the frequency in which it is being updated after the use of the Registry Cleaner or Clean and Fix My Computer. The health gauges in the Main Window are now kept up-to-date much better without any performance hit.
