Below is my post from a year ago, almost to the day, regarding version 2010.
I finally upgraded to 2010 and am still using it but I'm afraid it will be the last version of jv16pt I'll ever use, sadly.
Shame too, 'cause it's obvious this guy's a genius when it comes to writing code. His earlier versions were tight, lightning fast and did exactly what I wanted them to do.

New version delay
Postby bornconfused ยป Thu May 13, 2010 5 pm
So I installed Windows 7 last September or October. I've been waiting in vain for PT2010 since then. I don't know exactly what the problems are, I'm not a programmer, but I'm starting to wonder if part of the problem might lie in getting a lot of "New Features" to work properly. For instance, I see that you're working on a "Malware Cleaner". I already have a malware cleaner. It works VERY well and I have no intention of replacing it.
I've been using jv16 for many years exactly because of the fact that it focused on doing one job and doing that one job better than anyone else. If the new version shows up with a lot of "New Features" that I have no use for I will do the same thing I recently did with what had been my favorite imaging software for many years, switch to another vendor that offers a better alternative, if one exists.
Whatever the reason, I have to report that I'm now starting to actively seek an alternative. I may or may not find one, but I think 8 or 9 months is long enough to wait especially considering that Windows 7 beta was available for a year before the retail version shipped.
I sincerely hope that Power Tools is going to remain what it has been, the best system optimizer on the market, slim, sleek and fast. Not a Swiss Army Knife that tries to be all things to all people and full of bloat.
If history is any indication this post will be probably be taken as "bashing" and deleted, while in reality I'm simply trying to give jv a heads up. Either you've got a product for Windows 7... or not. Time's up.
