jv16 2011 (2.0.0.1009) registry finder doesn't work properly. It doesn't find every appearance of the searching words in the registry.
You can see it if you do as follows:
(this is for advanced users who feel confortable working with the registry. Don't do it if you don't understand what you are doing!!!!)
First open regedit, and look if this key exists: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{54635C92-DFAF-4A99-8802-92FB068A6154}
(this key belongs to Norton Internet Security 2008. It is a leftover after uninstalling it)
1. If the key exists then go to 3.
2. If it doesn't exist, then open notepad, and copy and paste this:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
@="Symantec Core LC Type Library"
@="C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\Symantec Shared\\CCPD-LC\\symlcsvc.exe"
@="0"
@="C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\Symantec Shared\\CCPD-LC\\"
save it as sym.reg, and run it to add the information to the registry (you can delete it later)
3. Open regedit and search for the word symlcsvc.
If regedit finds it, then open jv16 2011 registry finder and search for it. You will see it doesn't find it!!!
4. If you added the information to the registry, then delete it.
This is tested on Windows XP, Vista and 7 with jv16 power tools 2011.
And this does not happend with jv16 power tools 2009, it works fine.
