Failure
mcowan999@gmail.com wroteThis only applies to XP system, Win 7 works ok. Added the ignored words in and unchecked Anti-virus/malware with the following result. Registry cleaner worked, but the Clean and Fix my computer did the scan and after the fix button it locks after 4 or 5 progress blocks even though the activity icon continues to spin. Nothing happens and I aborted after 30 minutes. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
The fact that Clean and Fix my Computer locks up during 'FIX' and not Registry Cleaner most likely indicates that the problem is in fixing/deleting files.
Which was the case in http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4351&start=15#p28506 a lock up during 'fixing' empty Avast AV PRo folders!
You mentioned that you added words (Avast? / Avil?) to the Ignore words AND unchecked the Anti-Virus/Malware ckeck box. But please keep the Anti-Virus Anti-Malware software check-box checked!
If this does not help I recommend to run jv16PT in DEBUG mode and create a Debug log.html with only this CFMC lock up during the 'Fix' process event and sent it to http://www.macecraft.com/bugtracker .
mcowan999@gmail.com wroteI appreciate your help. How do I run in DEBUG mode? No reference in the Handbook!
1. Open jv16PT
2. Hold down the CTRL + SHIFT key briefly. A DEBUG entry will appear in the top menu.
3. Go to DEBUG and click Enable DebugMode.
4. Restart jv16PT.
Submit a bug report via BugTracker. Include the Debug log.html

PS: Can't you identify the file/folder that causes the lock up during the CFMC 'Fix" process?
mcowan999@gmail.com wroteWebroot Spybot was uninstalled a long time back but left several registry keys and folders that can't be eliminated by jv16.
I couldn't even manual remove its folders, they are read-only but the designation returns after closing the properties window.
1. So it concerns a former installed Malware product. Apparently jv16PT 2011 v2.0.0.1009 does not (fully) honor the check boxed "Anti-Virus Anti-Malware software" in the CFMC 'Additional safety' option!
But than adding the 'proper' Webroot/Spybot words to the CFMC Ignore words should bypass this problem, like previous users did in the case of anti-virus software 'Avast and Avil'
2. See http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4301#p27233 this procedure, made by super guru Tullik, manually removes 'bad' registry entries. Several people (me included) carefully used this procedure with good results.
