What has been your experience with the "Software and Leftover Removal Tool?" I have never used it before and a search showed over 400 items. I'm not surprised. I've been using XP almost since it came out. I was looking for one program in particular but didn't find a reference to it. I do file cleaners and registry cleaners considered to be safe or set at safe levels. Would sure like to remove anything taking up space and not necessary.

The Home -> "Software and Leftover Removal Tool" is the same as System Tools -> "Software Uninstaller".

This feature is completely rewritten, starting with jv16PT version 2010.

I understood the goal was to list all installed software, both with uninstall info and without uninstall info,

that could be uninstalled/removed in a safe way without leaving obsolete entries in the windows register.

I do not know if the developer considers the design of this new "software uninstall feature" fully finished yet.

From the jv16PT-2011 beta testing period there are still a few open questions!

It is your responsibility to select and uninstall any software products/component considered 'not needed anymore' for your installation. So be careful!

Personally I have only used (mainly for test purposes) the option 'uninstall software with uninstall info'. As far as I could see that option worked ok!

I have never used the option 'uninstall software without uninstall info', because I do not understand and/or recognize the major part of the items in that list.

I noticed a major change from previous version of the software removal tool that I believe was a mistake , at least for me. You can only select one item at time for removal whereas in earlier releases you could go down through the list of installed software, which is still presented and select ALL that you wanted to remove. To be able to only select one singule application make this very tedious if you are trying to clean up a system. This has been one of the tools that I use fairly regularly and would like to see this function returned. Because of this issue I will be more cautious in relying on JV16 as a go to utility and this was the very first utility I attempted to use in version 2011.

For obvious safety reasons Uninstall can only be used on one application at a time. In earlier versions Custom uninstall could also only be used on one application at a time.
