Registry cleaner never fixes!

Since at Least jv16 PowerTools 2010, if you choose the option to fix erroneous registry entries, the program always, 100% of the time just deletes them. I have pointed this out to the Macecraft people, and they assured me this would be fixed in v.2011. NOT! I used to use Norton Utilities to do this kind of thing. Now no longer use any of Symantec's programs. However, the registry fix function of their registry cleaner was wonderful, it did an excellent job!

Any one else run into this issue with jv16 PowerTools? I wonder when the Macecraft people will address it.

My process is that I have moved some non-system files around to take them off the C:, but do not have the time to manually edit the registry for all the file paths. I assumed that I could have PowerTools fix the registry entries I missed. I guess I was wrong.

Any thoughts or help?

Registry Find & Replace is a tool of jv16 PowerTools that was maybe suitable for that operation.

Look at the handbook 2011, page 54 ff.

But, you have a point: Registry Cleaner should be able to fix this kind of errors.

However just one question: did you let the program update the (file) cache after having moved those files and before running the Registry Cleaner? IMO, if the cache had not been updated, the Registry Cleaner was unable to find the new paths.
