Intermatant lock up in Registry cleaner

I have just put 2011 onto my 32bit Vista desk PC. The instalkl went ok as dis Clean and fix my compluter. But when I ran it the program window wouldn't move and the activity disk stoped doin any thing. I founmd if I keppt trying to move it suddally I could and thew actrivity disc srartred to rotate again. Taskmanager couldn't close it. I reboot worked! Running it again I have found if the mouse stays in the oprogram window and you are able to move it about it works. Indeed I made to mistake to moving the mouse and its locked up again!

I havn't had the problem on W7 where I tried it first.

John7, I did understand the following:

1. Installation of jv16PT2011 2.0.0.1007 on your Vista 32bit desktop PC went OK!

2. You did run Clean and Fix my Computer(CFMC), but that did not run well. It seemed to stop working? Freeze? the Windows Task manager could not close jv16PT?

3. You did something with the mouse in the program window what I did not understand.

From an other forum post I derived this issue about Clean and Fix my Computer(CFMC):

CFMC does not honour (at least for Avast and Alwil) the check boxed 'Anti-Virus Anti-Malware software in the CFMC 'Additional safety'.

Despite this checked box CFMC still tries to remove empty folders for Avast/Alwil, while Avast prevents the removal. The result is a ‘Freeze’ application error.

In this case the solution was to put the words Avast and Alwil in the CFMC Ingnore words option! same is probably true for Norton, Symantec, etc

Sorry for problems with post.

On Vista 32bit reg cleaner worked OK after a scan with every problem type except Invalid file or directory referance. On this the actgivity spinning dick stoped as did the green bar, The JVC window coulkdn't be moved, it could be maximized and restored (not minimized) but clicking the bar buttons. It wouldn't close and running task manager failed to stop it as well. The only way was a reboot..

Trying a second time I found by chance that if the mouse was left in the top JV16 window bar you could move the window about AND the process was OK i.e. the green bar kept growing anbd the disk span. But is you took the mouse out it stoped again.

It was very difficult to get the mouse active in the JVC window again, clicking etc. When I managed the process started again.

I hav han no such problems on a W7 laptop and running JV16 2010 after rebooting a second time ran with no isues.

My attempt to summarize:

1.Only a Registry Cleaning scan, with the Advanced engine settings option File reference scan check boxed, eventually stops functioning.

Symptoms: The scroll bar does not progress any more, disk activity stops, Task manager can not stop/cancel jv16PT and a reboot is required!

2. If you manage to start the registry scan AND immediately move the mouse pointer into the top jv16 window bar, the scan process continues normally and completes.

If, during the registry scan, you move the mouse pointer out of the jv16 top window bar, the scan process stops functioning again as in point 1.

Question:

Do you get any application (e.g. Freeze) application errors?

John7, I have no idea what could be the cause of this weird mouse phenomena in jv16PT v2.0.0.1007 running under Vista 32bit.

Hopefully the developer(jv16) can look at this problem here in this forum, http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4368#p28048

Perhaps jv16 will need the Debug log.html that only covers this issue.

No one ever came back and the 2011 is useless on this Visa PC. Have now sent a bug report on so hope some one will take some notice now!

2010 works with no problem.

The online report says no attachment, tried sending a second one and still says no attachment. How on earth do you send an attachment other than select and send?

Having sent the log to support, never heared back. Its still not working and the message about new version when using 2010 is anoying. How do you turn it off from telling you there is a new non working version?

Ps JVC is in my Norton in every way I can think (not added on the laptop (W7) : and no problem. I have disabled Norton no diffrence)
