Have seen this issue on a couple of computers Clean an Fix my computer crashes after you press fix button. This is because

one or more empty folders is locked for removal. Help a friend today with this issue on 2 Xp computers. After some investigation

what folders was causing the crash click the folder and choose the never show again option the problem is solved. But it takes

some time when the number of empty folders can be very large.

Kind Regards

What do you mean with 'crashes'?

Do you get an application error and if so than a Bugreport.txt file is made in the installation director of jv16PT.

When you press the fix button program suddenly stops and you get an error message that the program has stopped responding!

I think development (jv16) will need more detailed information:

.

1.Is it a Windows error message (can you attach a screen shot) or an application error like: http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4346#p27830

2.Is the Bugreport.txt file created in the installation directory/folder of jv16PT 2.0.0.1007

3.If applicable, please take a look at "How to create a Bugreport and Debug log" http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4337

Its the standard windows error message! Instead of skipping the folders that cant be removed. The application stops

responding.

This is the message I get when "clean and fix" freezes.

In the case of an application freeze, choose terminate the applicaton and a Bugreport.txt should be made in the jv16PT-2011 installation folder!

.

The only advice I can give is to sent Bugreport.txt and Debug log.html to Macecraft Bugtracker.

.

If needed please see "How to create a Bugreport and Debuglog" http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4337

I think the whole thing off removing empty folders are unnecessary. The most off the folders are recreating them self.

.....I have had (and reported with screenshots)the same issue with 'empty folders' and "Clean and Fix" hangs all the way through the Beta Testing.

I still a hang with my Desktop XP when ever I attempt to run Clean and Fix, and never does populate the errors for repair or Delete.....

Is there the slightest change that this Visual C++ runtime issue http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4339&start=0#p27880 could be of any influence on this topic?

If you right click the folders that are causing this and chose Never Show Again. The problem is solved. I have fixed this problem

on a couple of Xp computers never seen this problem on Vista or Windows 7.

.........Also the one thing I can verify is that the clean and fix processes hangs at "fixing" with empty Avast AV PRo folders.

I can't understand why security software folders are even processed. I thought they were excluded by default?.....

Yes, by default the CFMC safety options (e.g. Anti-Virus Anti-Malware SW) are check boxed, but can be changed manually!

Could you try the CFMC option "Ignore words" for Avast?

Thank you leonardo: I will certainly do that , and see what happens. :

... Reported (in beta program)throughout the testing.

I still get 'Error Messages' just after JV16pt start up (process .exe) that require me to sellect "Continue Application"

and shortly after shutdown (process termination) that requires me to select "Close application"

It seems I'm the only one with this symptom.

Now these errors don't effect the use of the program (everything else seems fine), but from a tech. point of view, does beg the question. Why? ...

The program might be thrashing due to your RAM size. Task Manager/Resource Monitor might provide a clue.

But for me, if all components are working I can live with that....

1.These Start up and Shutdown (application) errors, don't they create a Bugreport.txt representing these errors?

2.Bottom line bug seems to be CFMC not honoring (at least for Avast and Alwil) the check boxed 'Anti-Virus Anti-Malware software in the CFMC 'Additional Safety option'.
