Actually, the Backup Tool (for Registry Backups) does NOT remember the last column sort (eg by Description or Created) even in the same or a new jv16 session.
It seems to always go back to sorting by the Type field/column.

On my x64 Windows 7, in the same session, it remembers the last column sort when done on Description, Type, Size, ID, or Created.
In a new session, it remembers the last column sort done in the prior session on Description, Type, Size, or ID. It forgets if the last column sort done in the prior session was on Created.
The behavior is the same for Registry, File, and Other Backups.
My default date format setting is DD.MM.YYYY, HH AM/PM. I don't know if it would behave differently with a different date setting.
