After just downloading the new 2011 Upgrade, installed it on my Windows 7 32bit Home Premium. Did a registry clean with the active x option ticked, went smoothly there. Then decided to do a registry compact and it failed. After rebooting and getting up to the dos box on the windows pre-boot/setup screen, it only got past the 2 first hives. Stating error for each particular hive after. It wouldn't leave the screen so did a hard reset (power button pushed held in) on my laptop. Any ideas?

Look at this post of Leonardo.

Similar to a vague sense but in my case win 7 32bit and the initial tries to compact were carried out in the DOS box as normaly would happen. But after stating errors further in the dos box, nothing closed or went further. My lappie works fine even though, am typing this post on it. As I understand 64bit systems were always a bit touchy for registry cleaning or compacting(maybe because they can also run 32bit stuff?).

1. Did you do all the above in one jv16PT session, so no stop/start jv16PT and/or reboot in between?

2. Was the Registry Cleaner run ( including ActiveX) done with the Normal cleaning policy (so not aggressive)?

Please see: http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4332#p27712 for my second Registry Compactor attempt in W7-64bit.

What was the exact content of those error messages?
