Confirmed for jv16PT v2.0.0.986 (2010) and v2.0.0.988( beta1 2011) with W7 x86.

In XP-SP3 I had already downloaded the Anti-malware tool

This License Tool access violation happens regularly, maybe every time:

1. Start PowerTools.

2. Do Help-->License Tool-->Close.

3. Exit PowerTools; after a few seconds, the access violation occurs.

With v2.0.0.988 I can not reproduce this 'access violation' on neither XP-SP3 nor W7 x86!

Maybe it's an issue only on 64-bit machines......

It probably is an issue only on (W7) 64-bit systems.

I gave it 5 consecutive tries, but I can not reproduce this issue in neither XP-SP3 nor W7 x86.

The tool results window has two aborts. The second abort works OK.

The first abort has the issue, and you get the message when you start the tool again in the same session:

: The following information must be provided in order to start:

* The tool is running. Please wait for it to finish first!

Automation Tool:

1. The Delete button invokes the backup dialog, but does not backup the selected task, and nothing is deleted.

2. Many of the right click menu options do nothing. For example, Explore, Edit, Edit manually, Properties.

3. The Run now button produces this message: : File "" does not exist. The jvb (below) looks correct.

Registry Manager: I tried to delete the Filetype xbin_backup. It gave me the backup dialog and the line dropped from the list.

However, the key was not deleted and nothing was backed up.

System Cleaner was set for the safest File Cleaner settings, and to flush a small directory structure, and to empty another small directory structure, without automation.

It got an access violation soon after Start was clicked and the backup dialog was told "Yes."

Another bug: after doing "Change settings" for the File Cleaner, the descriptive text no longer "word wraps," even in a new PT session.

I dragged a folder containing 7 small files to the File Tool window. The grouping that occurred somehow doesn't seem right. Fortunately, it doesn't happen every time.

I dragged a folder containing 7 small files to the File Tool window.

I then selected and encrypted 1 file, including its filename. That seemed to work.

I then decrypted the file. That too worked.

However, Explorer now shows 8 files in the folder.

Apparently the program writes the decrypted file as a new file, but leaves the encrypted one in the folder.

Registry Monitor Compare seems to do nothing.

1. I created an HKCC only snapshot.

2. I selected that snapshot and clicked Compare.

3. The rectangle with the activity indicators and Abort button appears, but the counts stay at zero.

4. The jv15pt.exe process is using 0 CPU.

5. The same thing happens with an HKCU only snapshot.

This sequence results in an access violation quite often.

1. Start PowerTools.

2. Do DEBUG-->Program debug tool.

3. Click "Generate test report," click OK, click Close, exit PowerTools.

4. It seems to happen every time if all the user actions at #3 are done very quickly.
