The last time I did a registry cleaning was in XP. Today I did a registry cleaning at the safest level on a Windows7 X64 Ultimate machine and the amount of time that JV16 took to delete the selected keys was exceedingly slow. Even after 5 minutes of deleting it had only progressed less than 50% of the way. I aborted the cleaning and restored the registry backups.

How many entries were listed as erroneous?

It found 527 errors

Even with that number of erroneous entries the cleaning shouldn't go that slow.

Could you try to repeat this in Windows Safe Mode? Running the program in Safe Mode ensures there is no third party programs running in the background, such as Anti-Virus, that could affect the performance.

It worked fine in Safe mode took about 2 mins or so to delete the entries.

I was about to post that too. Running v 2.0.0.986 on XPSP3 everything was normal for a while and cleaning up cleaned or found items took as long as always for years. Pretty darn fast. Now it takes about TEN TIMES LONGER and I am not exaggerating. Just to remove 5 entries takes about 3 or 4 seconds per entry when that should be lightning fast. I have a lot of old software to uninstall and at this pace it will take many times longer to clean up the left behinds. I still have 2009 on my system, next time I'll try that and try '10 in safe mode when I get a chance. I hope you tech supp guys have an idea about this, cause it ain't normal. Thanks.
