Yes, because the files are a part of the 60 day trial restriction mechanism, if these files would be removed by the uninstaller the user could reinstall the program and get a new trial of 60 days.

OK. The files do no harm and are minuscule. 8)

A registry cleaner is uninstalled using its own uninstaller.

Test Objective: To see whether a registry cleaner uninstalls cleanly without leaving any files or registry data behind.

I suppose PowerTools gets a small minus mark for this criterion in the comparison study. :

If you have your license file on the desktop when you install jv16 PowerTools 2010 these files don't get installed. If you don't like these files then buy a license before you install it.

JV16 so you didn't realize till later on that this was a part of the trial software mechanism?

Well maybe I found something of interest to you anyways, after all if someone was to simply remove this, looks like they get another 60 days?

That's correct, the trial mechanism is a piece of code I very rarely modify or even look at, I simply didn't member that it was changed like this for PowerTools 2010.

I am not too worried about people deleting these files in order to get a new trial period. First of all because the filename and location is different in each system (which is also the reason why many users reported the files not being created earlier in this thread), and secondly, if someone wants to bypass the trial restriction of the program they can just download the pirated version, which is much easier to do.
