On an x64 Windows 7 system, using PT2010 v.2.0.0.976

File Finder bug:

The date in "Search by date" always shows today's date when the tool is loaded. Even with a saved preference, the user has to manually reselect the desired date.

Another File Finder bug:

In the results list columns:

"Created" date shows the date called "Date modified" by Windows Explorer.

"Last modified" date shows the date called "Date created" by Windows Explorer.

Note: I expect to eventually make a single consolidated bug report referencing these and other such File Tool nits that may still be in the then current release. There ARE other nits.

On an x64 Windows 7 system, using PT2010 v.2.0.0.979

While a list is being populated, the flickering, temporary black corruption, and slowness caused by them still happen, with the File Finder list window, for example.

It's disconcerting. I work around it by minimizing the list window until it is populated.

Running XP-SP3 with build 979:

3. The Windows resizing is remembered between jv16PT close/restart sessions, except the right hand size of the window.

Starting with the first beta version of jv16PT2010 the window right border line (=the windows width) of every window in jv16PT2010 returns to a default position after closing/starting Power Tools. So a full size window, physical display wide as it was in jv16PT 2009-build 606, is not remembered.

Personally I can live with it, but several other users find it irritating/annoying. See e.g. topic: http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4201#p26083 and the attached screenshot.

Very ANNOYING, & a significant usability issue.

It seems like with the Delphi 2010 development environment used to make PT2010, the rightmost list column has no user accessible right side margin. So double clicking it or drag resizing the column itself cannot be done. I guess its width cannot be remembered either, since with no right side margin, what is there to remember?

If this is an immutable characteristic of Delphi 2010 lists, would it be possible to put a narrow empty rightmost column in the PowerTools list component so the right side column with actual content can be manipulated by the user?

Confirmed, but in my case the widest content has about 1-2 full characters not showing!

I think the horizontal scrolling and window size remembering shortcomings are further results of the right side column having no distinct boundary of its own. It appears its boundary on the right is the window's boundary.

The issue is not relating to Delphi 2010, it's a feature of the custom developed list control we use. But I agree it's not a very good feature, therefore we will add a vertical bar to the last column as well. Like the other improvements discussed, this will also take a little time to do, so don't expect this to be included in the very next build. Thanks!

Who can reproduce the issue? Also, could you give me Step by Step instructions how you can reproduce this issue? What exactly you do because I cannot reproduce this no matter how I try it.

While you are at it, could you send two Debug Logs? One from the session in which you resize the window, and one from the session you open PowerTools again and it doesn't remember the window width? When you resize the window, could you make it as wide as you can, so it will be easier for me to see it from the Debug Log, thanks!
