Sorry, it took a while due to other business.

Did some testing and the problem certainly does occurs with the Registry Finder (search on keyword=zonealarm) and the Registry Cleaner Scan lists.

After a test with a messed up graphical display, I must stop/start build 975.

The graphical mess-up does not (so far) occur with Clean & Fix my Computer.

yes, I do (XP SP3)

I can also confirm with XP Pro SP3.

I have the window set to Maximize, But often the window fails to show the correct size (Maximized).

Then, I think that what may be happening is that the first press restores the window size (But the window size does NOT change), & then the 2nd press maximises it (which it should have been in the first place).

And this happens far more often when re-run the Registry Cleaner WITHOUT restarting jv16.

In relation to my previous post see http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4239&start=30#p25986 I can add the following:

For both the Registry Finder scan list and the Registry Cleaner scan list it is sufficient to move the Vertical Scroll bar 3-4 times fully up and down to mess up the graphics and and freeze the displayed screen.

One of the messed up results is that each entrie line is displayed almost double in the sense of 'out of focus' and 'double sighted'

Unfortunately I can not make a screenshot. Irfanview can not handle the messed up graphics.

I ask other XP-SP3 users to try this and hopefully confirm this odd behaviour!

Confirmed for WinXP-SP3 (but works without problems with Win7 x64)

Could someone please send step by step instructions how you can reproduce the problem?

I'm trying to double click the area between columns and doing so with any tool or under Windows 7 or Windows XP doesn't do anything to me.

I was now able to reproduce this. The problem occurs if you first maximize a tool window, then close it and open it again. If you now click the maximize button, it takes two clicks.

I'm working on this. The issue of maximized window state not being remembered should be fixed at the same time, I think these are one and the same problem.

Like I had guessed, these two issues were connected and they are now both fixed. That is, the program will now remember the maximized state of its windows, and there is no need to double click the maximize button.

This is now fixed, thanks for reporting!

FYI: The bug caused the registry cleaner to skip some registry data, this caused these errors not to be detected. However, since the next version scans more data, it will also be a bit slower.

It contains a new version of the list control that fixes the column clicking problem, if we are lucky. I noticed that the problem with the translations is still included (translations being installed to the computer even if the user selects only to install English) . We are working on this.

Windows 7 seems to be ok! It is XP-SP3 that has the probem.

For me, Aagaard and Roberta it seems to be enough to do:

1.Do either a Registry Cleaner scan with in the scan result list (in my case) 200-300 entries or a Registry Finder scan (with a search word that provides a few hunder entries). Now just moving the Vertical scroll bar fully UP and DOWN 4-5 times, results in messing up the dispay. The 'double line effect'. It looks that on line item base a part of the vertical scroll stays remembered.

2.In the Scan Result window reduce the width of the columns (text does not fit now) and than in the Header 'double click' on the vertical lines that separate the columns.

Do this a few time on different columns and the display is solidly messed up.

After action 1. and/or action 2. jv16PTbuild 975 must be stopped/restarted to recover.

The display seems to be severely messed up to a point that I can not take a screenshot!

There must be more XP-SP3 users/testers out there, who can do this simpel test!

How do you perform the scrolling? Do you grab the "button" inside the scroll bar and move that around, or do you the mouse wheel or the up/down arrow buttons of the scroll bar? Or do you click the empty area of the scroll bar under the button one can grab?

Could you try what happens if you use capture a video from your desktop while doing this? You can do such capture with a free software called CamStudio (http://camstudio.org/) for example. It captures your desktop view to a standard .avi video file which you can then send here.

I need some time to do this but I will give it a try.

I just installed build 976. My graphical problems with XP-SP3 are all there there but more easily to invoke!

With CFMC I can now invoke the problem too, by only moving the Vertical scroll bar fully UP and DOWN for a couple of times in the Scan Result window!

The graphical phenomena starts basicly with remembering and displaying the last position of a displayed item. The screen saver Irfanview is using a "cross hair mouse pointer" (full screen vertical cross line + full screen horizontal cross line). If you move the cursor over the screen ALL previous cursor positions are 'remembered' and displayed on the screen. So after moving the cursor over the screen for a while it is just an assembly of vertical and horizontal lines.

This phenomene occurs too when vertical scrolling the Scan Result window. The previous position of entrie lines are rememberd and stay displayed on the screen.

Result is a mess of horizontal overlapping "double item lines".

ADDED COMMENT:

Double clicking in the Header of a Scan report, on the column seperator lines, most of the time does not work in build 976.

XP-SP3 with build 976:

With build970 I started with a clean install, new defined settings and no registry & temp backup files kept.

With the builds 974-975-976 I deinstalled the current build, kept settings and backups, and installed in the same (but renamed) physical directory the new build.

I noticed with build 976 (did not check this with build 975 and 974) that my previous taken and kept backups are not shown by build 976.

See screenshot below.

UDATED Friday Oct 1st; 6 pm

Program maintenace tool (=delete old backups) in build 976 does see these 'missing' backups.
