What would you like to get for PowerTools 2011?

How does this differ from PowerTools' "Open in RegEdit" feauture that is availabe in the Right-Click menu of most tools?

The feature lets the user copy and paste a specific directory from a support forum for example without having to navigate to it manually. I have included a couple of snapshots.

Another much requested feature is compatibility between the Startup Manager and MSConfig, this will be also included to PowerTools 2011.

I would like to see an option for jv16 PowerTools 2011 that would allow the program to automatically run with Windows startup. That way you can click on jv16 PowerTools in the System Tray and it would open quickly for easy access right at your finger tips.

Well, in Windows 7 (and Vista?) you can easily add the program to the taskbar. No need to make the program start up automatically with the OS. It's recommended to have as few programs as possible starting up with the OS.

Can the Columns menu options in the list of certain File Tools be moved to a tool tab?

That way, it could be possible to remember those settings, and maybe the related column widths, based on a saved preference.

Perhaps, also, the unwanted automatic column resizing that has always plagued those tools would become a thing of the past.

I don't know to what extent jv16 handles uninstall functions but if it performed post-uninstall file,folder & registry analysis similar to how Revo Uninstaller performs that'd feel like it would be a complete product.

A Right-Click Eraser that can Securely Delete Files, Folders, and Shortcuts.

Alternative Freeware (i.e. Eraser and File Shredder) has been buggy and unstable.

I wish PowerTools 2011 to have a Tool like it.

Yes. This was a very handy feature when PT 2010 was beta tested and we have no plans not to use the same for PT 2011.

Speaking of PT 2011 betas, we are hoping to release the first beta version of the PT 2011 in next month.

The main new features are:

1. Faster and more stable PowerTools.

2. Tag system, allows user to tag lines with tags like "new", "old", "important" etc. It's possible for the user to create own tags, or just use the built-in ones.

3. Startup Manager will be 100% compatible with MSConfig, items disabled with MSConfig can be enabled with PowerTools and vice versa.

4. The Registry Cleaner will show more detailed information why a piece of registry data is considered as an error.

5. Tool to delete locked files during a system reboot.

6. User Action Log feature allows user to see exactly what was removed and when. For example, if the user has lost a file called "foobar", he or she could simply use the User Action Log to see if the file was removed with PowerTools, when and whether a backup exists.

6. The tabs of the Settings window will include scroll bars to allow the window to be resized smaller without anything being left out.

Since jv16 PT can ALREADY Overwrite...

Such feature has been in PowerTools for a long time already, you can wipe files with the File Tool. Or are you requesting that this feature should be added to the context menu (right-click menu) of Windows?

If wiping is added to the context menu (right-click menu) of Windows there should be an option in jv16 PowerTools 2011 to enable or disable this. This feature could cause an error when you right-click "Computer" and then select "Manage" in Windows 7.

I agree. I personally hate software that integrate with the system, such as adding data to the context menus without permission from the user.

We'll add an feature to allow the user to add the wipe option to the context menu of explorer. But I can't promise it for PT 2011.
