Hello, I'm using the 60-day trial version of PowerTools 2010, very happy with the product so far - computer working better, registry health at 100% and PC health at 90%, which I guess is OK?

One thing that's still bugging me though. A problem that hasn't gone away is that the following error messages periodically appear when I close down IE8.

Runtime error 217 at 02D1F48E

Runtime error 217 at 0413F48E

Do I still need to worry about this? Any suggestions for how to stop it happening? FYI, I'm computer-literate but not the most technically advanced user...

Thanks in advance for any help you can give...

1. Run Clean & Fix in 'Normal Scan mode' and use 'Fix' on the items found and stop/start jv16PT. This will most likely give you 100% PC health too!

2.I think this has nothing to do with jv16 PowerTools -2010.

This 'Runtime error 217' problem has probably to do with add-ins for IE8. Which Windows OS are you using?

Search with Google for "Run time error 217 and IE8"

e.g. see http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t685810-runtime-error-217-a.html and http://www.winvistatips.com/ie-8-help-please-t579370.html

Go into Control Panel>Internet Options>Advanced tab and reset your IE8 settings to Default. That should clear up the Runtime Error 217. You will probably need to reset your Home Page after this IE8 reset. Also, ensure that you have the latest Java installed in IE8. The latest Java is update 1.6.0_21. Also ensure that the older versions of Java have been uninstalled. Look in Control Panel>Programs and Features. You should only have Java(TM) 6 Update 21. If others are there, just uninstall them.

Fantastic, PC and Registry Health both now at 100% - plus latest version of Java installed and old ones uninstalled, so will see if that sorts out runtime error - thanks guys!
