I ran setup with build 967 a first time, used the program, then uninstalled the program and ran setup again.

Did you run the Uninstaller in a way you instructed it to not to uninstall the Settings of PowerTools? If also the settings are removed, the settings of the setup are removed as well.

I ran 4 different tests on each system using the Registry Monitor and B967 works without failure on both x64 and x86.

After closing jv16B967, the Windows Task manager shows jv16.exe running for ~1 minute at 50% processor busy (utilizing 1x cp), than the 'Freeze' follows. Or is the 'Feeze' not intended to be fixed yet?

I was hoping the freeze issue to be related to this problem but I guess they are two different issues. I'll have to see about the freeze issue too.

Do you need a 'fresh' set Debug log.html and Bugreport.txt with beta 967? It looks that after closing jv16PT the program is looping (1xcp 100% busy) till windows is closing the program with 'program is not responding' -> application error 'Freeze'

That wouldn't hurt. Please feel free to send them to this thread.

Attached are Debug log.html and Bugreport.txt from the 'Freeze' with Win 7 x86 Professional and jv16 build 967.

Hi

I just downloaded and installed .967 and unfortunately for me it responds in the same way and 'freezes' on closure as .966 did. Again, if I wait 8-10 seconds after PT has finished its actions it closes without problem. I mainly use 'Clean and Fix' and 'History Cleaner'.

OS Widows 7 x86 Home Premium.

Happy to submit bug files if required?

Good luck

Windows 7 x64 Professional, PT B967

The Startup Manager crashes when the jv16 Central Server information is used. Not 100% repeatable, so it may or may not be related to allowing info to be downloaded from the Central Server. Note also that the Startup Manager was started via a desktop shortcut instead of from within jv16. The crash occurred on closing the Startup Manager.

The debug data looks promising, the problem seems to be in the list control. And if that is the case, it should be fixed in the next released preview build.

Here is the latest preview build:

Here is the Change Log:

Bug fix: The program can randomly crash to List Index Out Of Bounds error when working with the result lists, such as with the results of the Registry Cleaner.

Bug fix: The program can randomly crash to Access Violation error when working with the result list.

Bug fix: Decrypt feature of File Tool's More Functions menu actually executes file Encrypt, not Decrypt.

Bug fix: In History Cleaner, if you double click an item, select the Files tab and select Properties from the Right-Click menu, nothing happens.

Bug fix: If you select not to install certain translations (e.g. Russian or Dutch), they are still installed to your system.

Bug fix: Some scan modules of the Registry Cleaner are not scanning the 64 bit side of the registry under 64 bit Windows.

Bug fix: Using the Right-Click menu's List Control features remove items from a result list can cause an Access Violation error.

Bug fix: The result lists of some tools, such as Clean and Fix My Computer, can contain duplicate groups, such as two "Temp files" groups.

Bug fix: The result list can show a negative number of selected items, for example: "Selected: -1, highlighted: 0, total: 10"

Improvement: The installer will from now on remember its previous settings, so when installing the next update you will not have to make all the same changes again.

Improvement: The Registry Cleaner now finds more left-over data from old software.

Improvement: The installer now allows you to download translated versions of the Handbook, Danish and Dutch being the first available translations.

Improvement: Accessing and modifying the result lists is now faster, the list control is more responsive even with many items.

New translations: Italian, Slovak.

Updated translations: Dutch, Russian.

This build will be officially released on next week if nothing major is found. This build contains still more fixes to address the program's random crash problems. I hope I got them all fixed now.

Hello,

since many builds :

StartUp Manager, chose an item, then Right Click to Enable/Disable = Right click doesn't work, there a message instead "Please select at least one item", even if you already chosed one.

But the button does it right.

Using XP-Pro-SP3 with jv16PT-2010-build 968:

I fear that build 968 is not better than build 967, in relation to the use of 'History Cleaner':

1. The 'freeze' on the closure of jv16PTbuild968, right after using History Cleaner, is still there (repeatedly).

2. In History Cleaner, right clicking on line 'IIS Log Files' shows the two options "Explore' and 'Properties'.

Clicking option 'Properties' very often ends in an Access Violation (not always). Clicking option 'Explore' works OK!

3. History Cleaner regulary shows 'double lines'.

Attached are two .zip files with the Bugreport.txt and Debug log.html of:

1. 'Freeze' at close of jv16PT build 968 after short usage of 'History Cleaner'.

2. 'Access Violation' after right clicking "Properties" on a line in 'History Cleaner'.

I just tried this and I have exact same problem.

I remember (vaguely) that I once had that problem too, but I think it had to do with 'Settings' in the 'Advanced Interface'.

Please go to Main window -> Settings -> Advanced Interface -> List Options:

I use the following checked boxed:

List Options build 968.jpg

And I have now NO problems with the StartUp manager. Right clicking on a line in StartUp manager and using options Enable/Disableon works just fine.

Ups - I got a new problem with application crash in version 2.0.0.968. (Win7 x64 - danish version) - :

Ran Registry Cleaner (standard settings), got a list, selected All and choose Fix.

I also choose backup with suggested names for backup and after this application

went on with 'fixing', but ended up with an application crash (access violation error) :

As I am able to repeat this over and over again I ran this in debug-mode.

I attach debug_log and bugreport.

@ leonardo

right click works for me too, with those three options marked, but if I choose the five options (ie "click anywhere on a line...") it doesn't work ! I think it should, what do you think ?
