Excellent Move, JVPT16 Executives!

Kudos to all the JVPTt16 executives who made the decision to let holders of a previous JVPT16 license upgrade to the 2010 version! Well done, you guys.

I took Fred Langa's advice seriously and bought several licenses and upgrades. I wanted to love your product, mostly because your 'Handbook' is a superb self-teaching tool. But I was flummoxed by so many inscrutable issues using 2009 on both XP and Vista that I decided not to purchase your product again.

Your decision to let users with a license upgrade for free changed all that. If JVPT16 2010 works as well on Windows 7 as JVPT16 2007 and 2008 worked on XP then I'll be buying the upgrades on a regular basis again.

Like you, I have always been a great fan of jv16 PowerTools, ever since 2004/5 and, my 2008 version is still keeping my XP Pro in tip top performance.

Sadly though, when I too read the marketing teaser;

"If you're using the registered version of any version of jv16 PowerTools, RegSupreme Pro or RegSupreme, this upgrade is 100% free for you."

My heart broke when I discovered in the Help section of my jv16 PowerTools:-

Update information

"The latest version is not an update but an upgrade, in other words, it's a new product and therefore you can't update to it for free."

jv16 PowerTools 2010 has been released! It is a free update to all existing customers!

You must uninstall this product version before installing the new version.

Warning: Uninstallation will also remove your backups!

I guess that as a pensioner who can't abide Coke and factory made Pizzas anyway, I will have to give this version a miss, although I have already downloaded the trial version, and I must say it is pretty impressive indeed!!!

This special new release of jv116PT 2010 is a FREE update/upgrade for ALL registered users of previous Macecraft Registry products!

So, if you are a registered/licences user of jv16PT 2008, the jv16PT2010 version is a FREE upgrade for you.

And yes, uninstall the 2008 version before you install the 2010 version in the same directory.

Or install the 2010 version in another directory. Version 2008 and 2010 can exist next to each other!

Your 2008 licence file will be valid for the 2010 version too, just copy it to the installation directory of version 2010.

The PowerTools 2010 is a free update to all existing customers. If you own a license for any previous Macecraft products, you can update for free to PowerTools 2010. If you have any problems in the process, just let us know and we can help you out.

The 2010 version is working well for me, no problems with the upgrade.

Only minor problem is, the windows for any of the tools, for example, registry cleaner, won't stay maximized. If I return to a previously maximized window, it's minimized.

It's not a big deal, but it's slightly annoying.

xp home sp3 and I use large fonts.

This is a known (minor) problem, reported already several times for XP-SP3. I reported it too. But it seems to be an elaborate and/or hard to fix problem.
