Also, what version of Windows are you using?
I too use Win 2000 Pro SP4, but in combination with GData for Antivirus.
Same error though.
milly wroteSame here.

Unfortunately this error "Code The parameter is incorrect" is a known W2000 problem for quite some time.
Apparently the error does not only involve jv16PT but other (3th party) software too.
Please see forum thread : http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4202#p25583
I have windows XP home edition - Nod 32 Antivirus 4.2.58.3 - Outpost firewall 10.1.17
How can I correct the error. eg I just tried to creat a snapshot & got an error in the application message -but the snapshot was created maybe not too acccurately.
"Code The parameter is incorrect"
Altough W2000 is a rather 'old' OS it looks like quite a few users are bothered by it.
The first time I noticed this problem was early 2010 in the jv16PT-beta-2010 forum threads.
Unfortunately it appears that the developer(jv16) can not
Questions:
1. Under what circumstances does the problem occur. Alway's under the same or different circumstances? I found one entry in BugTracker related to this problem.
2. What kind of data can W2000 users collect (if any!) to contribute in the debugging process?
Could the W2000 users be of any help in the 'error Code' debug process?
Please see:
clarke wroteThe error page is coming up when I go to a tab to click on it and it comes up as soon as the tab is highlighted, before I actually click on it.
Perhaps the following questions help for a better understanding:
1. Could you complete the installation process of jv16PT-2010-build 970 under W2000-SP4 without a problem?
2. Do you get the Main Menu/Window displayed after starting jv16PT-2010-build 970?
3. Can you execute any function from jv16PT-2010 or do you always get the 'error code' on every attempt you make?
4. With '"going to a tab to click on it"' do you mean any of the icons in the Main Menu/Window like: 'Registry tools', 'File tools', 'System tools', 'Help', 'Language' etc.
5. Are you able (if needed) to make a screenshot of the 'error code' showing?
2Yes main windows appears.
3 If i close the error page and click fast before it appears again i can do functions. eg reg cleaner.
4 Yes all the icons
5 yes i got a screen though ms paint. Let me know how to send it and where.
clarke wrote1. Installation went ok, no problems.

Question-3 was: Can you execute any function from jv16PT-2010 or do you always get the 'error code' on every attempt you make?
I do not fully understand your answer-3. Do you mean 'the error page' always pops-up, on every tab/icon you intend to click? But if you click are fast enough (closing the error page and before the error page re-appears) the jv16PT function clicked on will execute? Did I understand correctly that putting the cursor on the selected tab/icon is already causing the 'error page' to pops-up, even before actually clicking on the tab/icon?
5. You can attach the ms Paint sceenshot of the 'error page' here on this forum thread. Choose at the bottom of the page 'upload attachment' and after uploading choose 'place inline'. The screen shot will than be visable as part of your post.
Hopefully the developer can inform us which data (if any, Debug log?, Bugreport?) could be collected to contribute in the debugging process.
error codes.jpg
clarke wroteThat is correct the way you answered me.
If you run jv16PT-2010 in DEBUG mode, the displayed application error 'system error. code. The parameter is incorrect' should create a Bugreport.txt file in the installation director of jv16PT-2010-build 970.
The Bugreport.txt is created after you click 'close application' in the right hand top of the displayed 'error message code'.
For a clean start you can delete the old Bugreport.txt file. At the time of an errors the file is automatically recreated.
Bugreport.txt can be opened with Notepad.exe and can contain 3 application errors, the newest (latest error) is at the bottom of the file!
Do you think you could startup in DEBUG mode, collect Bugreport.txt + Debug log.html, put them in a .zip file and attach the .zip file to this forum thread?
See topic: http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4112 for guidance.
jv16debug.zip
clarke wroteI hope i did this right. jv16debug.zip
The Bugreport.txt in your jv16debug.zip file does NOT contain the Bugreport content but also the Debug log content!
For a clean start to catch the '"System error code. The parameter is incorrect"' please do the following:
1.Stop jv16PT, if already running in DEBUG mode.
2.In the installation directory of jv16PT, delete the file Bugreport.txt.
3.On the desktop delete Debug log.html
4.Start jv16PT (is already in DEBUG mode). On your desktop a fresh Debug log.html is now created
5.Do the minimum necessary to invoke the 'system error. code'
6.Choose 'Close application' in the top right corner of the displayed application error window
7.Now a Bugreport.txt (containing the code error) should be created in the installation directory of jv16PT-2010-build 970.
8. Put the Bugreport.txt (from installation directory of jv16PT) and the Debug log.html (from your desktop) in a .zip file
9. Upload the .zip file to this forum thread, as you did before, for the developer to see and investigate!
For the time being, I do not think we can do more to contribute in the debugging process.
Desktop.zip
clarke wroteOk, will try (tried) againDesktop.zip
Thank you, I downloaded Desktop.zip and checked it. Now it looks ok!
Both the Bugreport.txt and Debug log.html, for 'System error Code. The parameter is incorrect', are in the .zip file.
Hopefully this will be of help to jv16, the developer!
clarke wroteThank you I appreciate all the help .
I reported this bug (under user name=Clarke) and uploaded the .zip file to http://www.macecraft.com/bugtracker/
