As far as I can tell, this is because when jv16 PowerTools is installed, the setup writes the uninstall data to the registry. If such data from a previous version exists, it's overwritten. Therefore, if you have two versions of jv16 PowerTools installed, only one of them has the uninstall data in the registry and this is picked up by the Software Uninstaller. The file entry is picked up by the scanner module that scans your hard disk drives for installed software.

The new version includes a more accurate installed software list and greatly improved uninstall feature. The uninstall feature still only lists data, it doesn't actually remove anything, so feel free to try it out to any software, it's safe.

The test version "Uninstaller-4" looks different and better (I think). Both versions jv16PT 2009 and 2010 are now properly named and both are HTML.

When doing an Uninstall on an item, I frequently get key entry messages like these: Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ATI Technologies\.....

Do you want reports of these, using "cut and paste"? Because the 'Save List and Data' button does not capture the resuls of the simulated "Uninstall".

Using "Uninstaller-4" on my W7 x32 12.1" notebook illustates the 'huge' white/empty space at the bottom, left of the Application actions buttons. The 3 buttons 'Scan and list applications', 'Save list and data' and 'Uninstall' are pretty big in size.

For smal screens (<13") it would be great if this area could be reduced in height!

First sorry for my english it is not my native language.

I cant find applister-save.txt on my PC.

bugs (i think):

1. it finds non instaled product. I copied game Planescape on my PC and uninstaller finds it (file). Game is only copied from CD and not modified in any way.

2. it finds X-Fi mode changer Utility (file). Thise is also only copied and not installed.

3. i instaled game (old game from 1995) Rama. Uninstaller detected it by name Sierra (file) wich is name of company making it and Rama (HKLM)

4. It lists Firaxis Games (file). Thise is Folder i make in wich i install games from Firaxis and is not instaled but made by me. Inside i installed 2 games and if i click uninstall buton (on your program) it list only one not both.

5. It finds only Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri (HKLM) but not upgrade Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri Alien Crossfire.

Uninstaler shoud group things from same program together, example:

i have AHD video converter installed. Unninstaler list Ahd converter (HKLM) but also list dvdbin (file) wich is part of AHD video converter and also ffmpegbin (file)

Uninstaler shoud inform user abaut things that are conected. I hope you understand what i mean (again, sorry abaut my english).

That was just a quick look. I will try to look some more tonight.

Please inform me if my findings are indeed bugs or i did understand the use of unninstaller wrong.

I hope that helps (becouse 2010 is wonderfull software) and if you need any report or anithing just say and i will post it.

If i chose AHD video converter ultimate and click on uninstall, under registry data to remove list every program i have instaled on my PC. And i mean every single one from Abine to Xvid. Any other program (wich i tried) list reg. keys to be removed. Are i misunderstand something?

If i uninstall 7-zip then under Files and directories to remove write nothing only App dir: . That is all. It dosent list folder where is instaled. Also under registry data to remove is empty.

A new version is under work, and I don't see an issue with 7-Zip, so whatever was wrong in the previous version may have been already fixed now. I don't know about AHD video converter though. The new version should be available in a few days, please see if that will work better.

No need to report them, they were mainly meant for my own testing. The next version will not show them.

I have reduced the height for the next version. The user interface will be revamped anyway when the functionality of the program is incorporated into PowerTools.

AHD video converter in Window "Programs and Features" is listed twice (two difrent versions 4.2.3.0 and 4.6.3.5.) and in your uninstaller only latest version is listed. And yes i have two difrent version of program instaled in difrent folders. I also find other programs wich registry data to remove list all my installed programs. Is thise a bug? If it is, do you need list of programs or any other data wich i can give you?

en will new version be avaible? I found some more bugs, but i wont post it, but i will wait for new version and then test it again. Now i use Advanced Uninstaller PRO 10 but i am not satisfied with it, so i woud like for PowerTools 2011 uninstaller to be best posible. So if is there a new wersion of uninstaller i woud like to help troubleshooting it.
