I'm asking you to do this because I cannot reproduce the issue, I'm thinking if there is a typo in the filename or something that could explain this detection.

This problem only exists in the Unit Testing Tool, that is, this doesn't reflect any bug in the actual program itself.

That's why we have been pretty much given up in trying to fix the issue. We have already used so much time trying to fix this without any success.

Just uninstalled build 950 & installed 951.

My PC Health & Registry Health have changed from 97% & 94% to 77% & 54% respectively!

This is because build 951 finds more registry errors compared to build 950.

I have noticed in the System Tools - Software Uninstaller that some entries with a closing parenthesis or bracket are not showing unless something follows the parenthesis or bracket. Please see attached screenshot. Also, it has been my experience that removing the IIS logs or Windows logs leads to erratic behavior in Windows Vista/7 sooner or later. There seems to be only one safe log to remove: the WDUFtrace.log that is created when Windows starts. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this (erratic Windows after repeated deletion of Windows log files and IIS logs)?

Windows 7 Pro. JVC version beta 2.0.0.951

By the way, full screening of the tools works very well now. Way to go ;)

I just noticed this: the license file has been placed on the desktop. Any reason why? It is also in the Program Files folder for the JVC Beta.

A feature request: could the license holders name be removed/changed? I feel this is a security issue that has bugged me for many years now. It is the ONLY place you can find my name on the computer.

XP-Pro-SP3 with RC1 build 951:

I do not know if this is still usefull but I ran under XP-SP3 the UnitTest with RC1 build 951.

The UnitTest completed normally but found 91 errors, more than ever before.

I have attached in a .zip file:

1. Debuglog.html.

2. The log of the UnitTest in a word .doc file.

On the most aggressive scan setting, the registry cleaner is not parsing correctly two registry keys for the Intel Rapid Storage Manager. Also, on Windows x64, DVDMaker's folder and all of its files are located at C:\Program Files. jv16 is intrepreting %ProgramFiles% as C:\Program Files (x86) so it is not finding the DVDMaker files.

Running Windows 7 x64, I confirm siliconman01's findings.

I'm seeing a whole load of false positive entries in the ActiveX Com section after running Registry Cleaner in aggressive mode.

One such instance is tipskins.dlltipskins.png

tipskins.dll shown as C:\Program Files (x86) in Registry Cleaner.

However the file does exist in C:\Program Files.

Downloaded today and tested most of the apps. My previous problem had been that when doing Clean and Fix, it would not perform the FIX for Registry Junk. With this latest release, 951, it worked perfectly. All other apps tried worked as expected. Still found partial lines - screenshot attached. Roving

Thank you for letting us know, I wasn't able to reproduce the bug you reported so I couldn't be 100% I got it fixed.

This is because you are using a larger than normal DPI settings with Windows, that is, you are using larger fonts than normal. But I improved the Main Window of PowerTools to better support larger fonts. Some tools might still show similar problems.

I have now added more debug code to the Startup Manager in an attempt to locate the bug. If you could try it with the next build and if the problem still exists, send a Debug Log that shows you starting up the Startup Manager not loading properly.

I'm afraid I wasn't able to find any bug based on the data you sent. If the problem still exists in the next build, please try to send a Debug Log file that shows the crash happening. Also, there is no need to take screenshots of the bug report, you should instead send the automatically generated BugReport.txt from the PowerTools' installation directory, it contains all the information of the crash report.

The next build will be released later today.

Have you ever used the PowerTools' Uninstaller? That is, uninstalled the program? This is a new feature in PowerTools 2010, if the Uninstaller detects a license file, it is copied to the user's desktop so the user won't lose it. This can be disabled during the Uninstallation by unchecking "Move license file to desktop".

PowerTools automatically searches for any valid license files from the user's computer, and stores a copy of any valid license file to its installation directory.

Generally speaking no, but if you want to have the name changed in you license file you can contact our support staff and ask them to issue you a new license file with for example your nickname.

Because most of the previous Beta and RC1 builds had the Registry Cleaner Engine tuned down for additional safety. This was because of the major changes in the engine, we wanted to do a lot of testing before unleashing the full potential of the new engine to avoid any problems.

Now as the release date of the final version is getting closer we are tuning the aggressivity back up a notch or few.
